Is he hurt? Saw him taking some BP before Milazzo got up the last time but obviously he didn’t come in

I’m wondering if he is really hurt or is Jay benched him after he loafed down the line on a ground ball that he could have been safe on in the first game against Wake.

he's benched because he didn't catch a good game the first game against Wake. with the games being super low scoring in Omaha thus far Jay would rather have the better catcher back there.

Didn't they also score a run on/after a ball that got past Travinski

You don’t get benched from the 4-hole. If anything, CJJ would have adjusted him down the line considering. He wouldn’t be super high on him and then completely rip him from the lineup. Consider that fact they he still lets JT hit.

Lots of people think he's been benched, and somehow didn't see him holding his side after pretty much every at bat. I saw throughout the first two games, and was wondering if anyone would say anything, or why he was being allowed to play, because between the late swings, and him holding his side, there seemed to be a correlation.

I don't know that Jay didn't perhaps have a second reason - wanting more defense in low scoring games - but Travinski probably would have pinch hit at some point in the last three games, if he weren't hurt.

They said on the broadcast he was dealing with injuries. But that’s all I have really heard about it.

Its been mentioned countless times since Wednesday.

He's not benched. He's dealing with an oblique/ back injury of some sort. Pretty sure he was trying to see if he could give it a go in the later innings, as they showed him taking some warm up cuts in the cages during the game.

Moscona is convinced he's not hurt, and won't listen to any reason about it. Insists it's because of his defense. I don't really care if that's a reason or not; it doesn't change the fact that you could clearly see him clutching his side after multiple at bats, and then the very next day he's out of the lineup.

If Jay is that concerned with defense, why was Travinski catching, in the first place? I don't buy that, but either way, he's got some kind of injury.

Do y’all not understand how his show works? He throws shite up against the wall quoting ‘Sources’ when it’s really 6th hand info coming from Theriot. It stirs a bunch of Sh*t that fills airtime fitting his narrative.

Unless it comes from a knowledgeable guest IN THE KNOW it’s as bad as quoting this board.

If you’re going off ‘defense’ Trav has a better 2nd base put out rate than Millazo. Past balls are virtually the same.

Supposedly hurt & definitely benched. He’ll give you some good AB’s but cannot frame a pitch or defend a ball whatsoever.

He's not quoting anyone. This is just his opinion, and I personally argued with him about it during a podcast in the chat. He wouldn't even acknowledge what I said to him about Travinski holding his side after multiple at bats. He completely ignored it and just kept telling me I was wrong, and he's not playing because of his defense.

Well I wasn't arguing why he isn't playing, because, like Matt, I have no way of knowing if Jay didn't just happen to decide at the same time that Hayden got hurt, that he wanted Milazzo's defense in there. Jay doesn't talk about injuries. But Matt said Hayden wasn't hurt, to someone else, and I chimed in, and he just refused to listen to anything else.

I know a lot of people don't like the guy, but I actually do. I disagree with him sometimes, but I think he's a good dude. I just didn't like his tone with me, when I was very reasonable, and he acted like I was some idiot.

Can he play Thompson’s position? He has been awful in Omaha!
