Johnny Jones says Tim Quarterman was sick, missed practice Friday. Said it probably affected his play today.

i know this doesn't change today's result, but it makes sense with what we saw from him today.

not sure if it was already posted but figured the info was worth knowing.

let's bounce back thursday night against auburn.

I does make sense. Looked like last year with the missed layups and turnovers.

But he wasn't the only one missing layups.

Lot's of ball left but I sure would like to see some progress on the repeated issues.

Quarterman and Martin both looked sick or drugged IMO. 21 missed shots in the paint and 10 missed FT caused the loss. And why the hell JJ didn't go with a zone more once Mickey pulled up lame is beyond me.

Yeah, even Mickey who put up video game numbers missed at least 4 point blank shots at the rim, had four silly turnovers and that 3-10 from the line....Ugh!

i was yelling that at the TV. he got beat on that one drive, and the guy dunked it. pretty sure they were only up 2 at that point. that dunk put them up 4.

The truth is just that JJ isn't a great coach in game. Our team is bad fundamentally, runs literally no offense, can't inbound the ball, plays soft on defense with no help, turns the ball over more than any team I've Seen and can't shoot free throws. If we have a cold night shooting the ball, get out rebounded and don't get a ton of points in transition, we're going to get beat.

At the end of the day coaches take the blame for losses and players take credit for the wins, what my old HS coach always said and he is right. Total team loss against a team we had no business losing to. Anybody that says depth was our weakness has not watched State under Ray. Come out and prepare for the next game.

Way too many threads about Kentucky and not enough about the current game at hand.

This would make sense--it is unfortunate that because the team's depth has not been used sufficiently, that they are stuck with basically a seven (sometimes eight) man rotation and a very thin bench.

If the back-ups had played more minutes in pre- conference games, maybe they would be more ready to contribute in situations like today.

Kentucky will beat the team I saw v. MSU by 20+ points in the PMAC.

If the Tigers play like that several more teams will beat them.

And stands around watching when someone shoots instead of "crashing the boards", knowing that many points come from "trash" buckets.

For me it's more the big picture than game day. I certainly have issues from time to time with his decisions in the moment, but I think he does o.k. there for the most part,

For me it's systemic type things that should be taken care of in pre-season and set as norms that continue to affect the team.

For example having poor inbounds sets, Not having a fundamental understanding of how to pass the ball, some boundries on shot selection, and overall discipline and progress toward improving some of these repetitive issues.

People keep telling me we're not good enough to make the tournament. Well, maybe...but I don't think you can know that until we can play in some reasonable proximity to our potential, which because of these systemic issues, we are not.

Good point. He was in foul trouble but still played 27 minutes. Need more from him in those 27 minutes.
