In that one loss puts you on life support and two kills you and teams need to close to perfect.

Crazy things happen, great teams often play badly and often lose to vastly inferior opponents when you often rely heavily on players who can barely buy lottery tickets or cigarettes.

We won. 6-2. It's a good thing.

...FWIW I get it, I mean, WTF was that at the end? But we closed and this game will be an afterthought. OU is next.

Positive, but objective. Good, refreshing post.

This team has problems and the coach has problems, but no amount of bitching on here will make any of them go away. Just do enjoy what you can of Simmons and hope for the best. Survive and advance from here on out.

What about 5 no conference losses to average teams?

That's what has put this team on life support.

No it hasnt. Everyone has clearly stated that this team is being judged on what they do since Victor and Hornsby have been playing, and so far so good...

At this rate we will end up being a 7 or 8 seed in the big dance. Simmons gives us the easy in when it comes to the bubble...

Yes but most of those wins are by 2 points against teams that are barely.500 that is not good. What you don't understand is our basketball team ONLY wins on talent. Our boys aren't coached properly.

The dust is finally starting to settle 30 min after the game, and the blood pressure is settling. That was a strange, strange game, and great to get the W.

Hopefully a game like this will help them be poised in later games when needed.

Points dont mean crap, winning is winning. And conference games anything can happen, like tonight. We somehow pull off a win Saturday and we will be riding sky high ghe rest of the year.

The losses happened, you can't just erase them. The committee will acknowledge the injuries, but they will absolutely count the 5 OOC losses on lsu's resume. (Only 3 was without both)t

If they don't matter, then why are there still tournament predictions with lsu being left out? Only one had LSU in, while others have them still on the outside looking in.

No winning isn't winning. It's about making yourself better for the next game. Constant improvement and we aren't improving.

at this rate?
4 of the next 5 games are against teams that are waaay better than Georgia. then we get bama at home and then have to go to Knoxville and Fayetteville. Come talk to me in 8 games about the "rate" we are going.
That's what Choupique is talking about. those 5 losses make this 8 game stretch one that we need to be 6-2 in instead of maybe being able to get by at 4-4.

Those 5 losses are going to haunt this team, i fear. I hope i'm wrong and you are right.

They will count them and diminish them. This is already been discussed and established by first hand reports from committee members.

Well if we aren't improving then you better learn to get used to simply winning or else you'll be miserable.

They still effect our rpi.
I hope that they don't ultimately hurt us. But this team is 6-2 in the sec with the best freshman in the nation with a win over Kentucky and all I saw on ESPN today was talk of whether or not LSU is on the bubble or not. that's kind of crazy and it's due to the early season issues.

I don't derive my pleasure from any LSU sport so I won't be miserable. Like most fans though I'm frustrated at bad "head" coaching.

Yes, it was a hole and I think we'd all like a little more consistent improvement, but all the big goals are still there for the taking.
