Just go back and watch any games from the past 10 years baws. Even the W's are marred with excessive penalties, wasted timeouts, baffling clock mgmt, delays-of-game, personal fouls, and general discombobulation. Which is my prediction for tomorrow.

You wouldn't be thinking of Demetrius Byrd vs Auburn would you? Or about 50 plays in that improbable 07 season.

With the coaches all on the sideline it looked like the Keystone Cops Comedy Hour. I swear they cannot get a play called with more than 5-10 seconds on the clock. And who was Cam talking to behind the playsheet? I bet it was Miles who was 10' away from him.

I wonder if we will break the record number of penalties from last year, playing the fewest games? 270 yds called back in one game? Etling said he should thank whoever committed the foul on the Donte Jackson TD or he might not have gotten in the game.

LSU will win tomorrow against a team from Nickelodeon and you will swear that we are destined for the National Championship. We will lose in Gainesville and you'll be nowhere around.

Stick around. Les won't return with a 4 or 5 loss season. If he does, it won't be with Cam for sure. And not with Herman on the board either.

Yes I did watch the '07 Auburn game recently. Here's a fun fact. We had just set a record with 13 penalties the week before in a mind-blowing loss to Kentucky.

I prefer Herman, for reasons I previously posted last year. He turned down several jobs and let it be known he was interested in LSU. He beat Fisher w/1 4*, a 73rd ranked roster, and a 3* 5'10" QB who rushed for 1 less TD than LF plus passed for 3,000 yds w/67% completion, turning him into a Heisman candidate and he developed 3 QBs for OSU, with Cardale Jones not starting until the conference playoffs.

Clemson also beat Fisher, so I think Tempo/Spread teams with DTQBs give Fisher trouble. He seems to be evolving in that direction as Francois showed vs OM. Unlike Miles he is still evolving with the game.

Alleva was zeroed in on Fisher, all or nothing. Fisher has some real issues left over from Winston, his divorce, child custody, and doctors for his son's life-limiting illness. Not saying the deal fell through on his end, but he did leverage it to get raises for all the staff and facilities upgrades. FSU also let it be known they would not let LSU outbid them.

What side of the fence are you on today? I can't keep up.

Could have sworn you were all about getting rid of Miles a week ago.

+1. Wisky is a top 10 team as well. The only "bad" part about the loss was our offensive offensive game plan, preparation, and performance. We were the laughing stock of college football with play calling and execution and still had chance to win game at end. Besides - 1st game of the season. Time to move on. One at a time.....

Agreed. I don't believe in Les as the coach, but I am in purple and gold with LSU socks on today at work and hoping we win big.

Penalties cost us 200 yds and 17 pts vs MSST last year:

Miles: “I think if we would have had 200 more yards of offense and 17 points, no one would be arguing about the offense at all. So the key to it is not change the offense, but let's make sure we execute what we call and not hold or have an infraction."

Miles/Steele played prevent for 16 mins and gave up 335 yds passing, a 21-6 lead with over 250 yds passing and 13 pts in the 4th Qtr, plus a drive for a game winning FG or TD that was stopped by White finally getting a PBU against De'Runnya Wilson and MSST getting a delay of game penalty.

LF7 could not watch the FG attempt and was praying for a miss in a game that should have been a blowout offensively, while defensively it was more of a "late game let down" than you saw under Chavis.
