He was a very good player late 80's early 90's.
Anybody have video of him from his LSU days?

Particularly the punt he ran back against Tejas A&M where he criss-crossed the field a couple times.

Wanted to show some youngsters that LSU played good football before 2000.

I've been looking for the video of that return on the internet for ages and I've never been able to find it. However, Youtube does have a video featuring a Kinchen pass catch (and an accompanying devastating block) from one the TAMU games.

I met him and Kevin at a television taping I worked in Cali...very nice guys, and Kevin had great things to say about Les Miles.

Nice clip. Kinchen was moving man...didn't realize he was that fast.

Oh, and FWIW, I can probably be classified as a "youngin" (23), and was perfectly aware of the good football being played at Tiger Stadium before the year 2000. Matter of fact, a huge pet peeve of mine is people who jumped on the bandwagon in 2003. I, as a 10 year old, actively watched the careers of Kevin Faulk, Rondell Mealey, & Cecil Collins overlap. And people THINK we have a stable of backs now, they obviously never saw those 3 hit the field during the same game. To quote Jim Hawthorne "HOE-lee COW!"

That clip shows you what LSU games are all about. You can feel the excitement and noise just watching that Youtube clip.

I've got some game films from when he was in high school. I'll try to dig them out and post some highlights. He was a beast in AA football. Someone mentioned his speed. He was not all that fast as far as big time football goes, but he played fast, had great vision, and they didn't call him crazy legs in Atlanta for nothing.

Man, does that ever bring back old times. What a block and what a game that Kinchen had.

Kinchen reminded me of current New England Patriot Wes Welker. He had deceptive speed, ran great routes, blocked well, caught every thing thrown his way AND was a great returner. LSU could use a Kinchen-Welker type on this team, but Les Miles doesn't appear to be interested. If he was, he should have offered a scholarship to Sam McGuffie (that fast 4.4 kid from Houston that went to Michigan) and converted him to Wide Receiver.........

Todd was my hero back in the day when I was a ball boy for my dad's Trafton teams.

I will see if I can get the highlight tape from his Jr. season and get it on-line

wow, that video does bring back great memories. For all the great skill guys we currently have on the team, I don't recall seeing any of them make moves like Kinchen did in that video (But I am guessing Shepard will soon change that)....

No better way to do that than by showing them clips from the teams Todd Kinchen played on.

Nice.

His touchdown vs. FSU (when FSU was #1) to put LSU up 7-0 is the one play of his that sticks out to me.

Played baseball against Todd growing up. He was the best athlete I played against growing up(Bucky Richardson was a close second).

I remember watching Todd play in a basketball tournament at my HS his senior year. Dude drove the lane and jumped off his right leg and slammed it home lefthanded. I think he lettered in like 5 sports in HS(football, basketball, baseball, track & field & tennis). He was a freak in HS.

This has nothing to do with Kinchen, but it's Lafell's block vs. MS St.

You got knocked the frick out!

I played with Todd at Trafton.
People forget he led them to state titles in baseball and basketball his senior year.
He could have played basketball anywhere, including Indiana , North Carolina, Kentucky.
He was a bad-arse.
SEC offensive player of the year on a really poor team.
In the league for about 6/7 years.
Returned a punt AND a Kickoff back for td's in the SAME game against the 49ers.

Was that Slip Watkins blocking ?
Neil, tell your Dad to turn down that Nuclear Pudding.
