Would you prefer him out of the lineup?

If he's just a DH, what's the point?

Who would you replace him with? I feel like he has been hot at the plate lately.

I agree with you Ell... There's no reason for your DH to be hitting .100 against a left handed pitcher. Mainieri must not look at LHP/RHP batting stats. A matchup isn't a matchup if they fail at hitting the opposite hand. As the DH you don't lose much value. I would DH beau and put Breaux in LF.

Vs righties, sure. How can 0.100 be "hot"? Pretty sure he's our worst hitter vs lefties that we brought.

Paul Mainieri actually gets criticized a lot for relying too much on matchups.

Breaux has a batting average of zero against lefties.

He's been good lately, regardless of who was pitching. (not sure who the recent hits are off of).

If there was some good option out there, I may feel different. But we really don't have anyone decent to replace him in this spot.

It's a good question, but what is the solution?
Which right handed batter would you replace him with?
I'llhang up and listen.

Anyone hitting over 0.100 vs lefties. He's 3 for 29. Pap is 3 for 14 and Wofford is 1-4. Breaux is 0-3.

Why does it have to be a righty?

So none of those guys are hitting lefties well
Not really a case to make. Maybe Pap, but even then it's marginal if it would be better. I'd tend to stick with Bryce right now. He'll prob get plunked anyway.

4 of our 9 hitters go against the "matchups" rules and the other 5 have hardly any difference.

But MATCHUPS!!!
