If we would've brought Newman in bottom 6 on Thursday, we don't give up a 3 spot and probably win.

When you have a really good experienced team, you can play for the series. This LSU team should just be trying to steal any and every win they can. Game by game without regard to the next one.

Totally concur. I wasn't happy with the semi surrender. That game could've been contained.

this. it's really frustrating at times. started in the first series of the year, then the Lamar debacle and then numerous mistakes that cost us games. oh well, we can be a spoiler I guess.

I can guarantee you our best relief pitcher won't see the field in a critical SEC series.

Would you rather your best reliever come in up 1 run in 6th or down 6 runs in the 8th????

I love these conclusions after the series is over lol.

Today could have just as easily been a 1-run game and this thread wouldn't have existed.

hindsight is 20/20. the problem in all of this is we only have one good relief pitcher on the team and currently only 1 starting pitcher pitching well, Lange, and even he is inconsistent this season. it's really hard to manage a team with 8 new position players and no pitching depth either

You're right, we only have 2 good pitchers on this whole staff. And that's pretty damn sad.

I agree.

But we had a great opportunity to win the series. Take away the shitty call by the ump on the collision at the plate and the bad couple innings, by Buggs and we would have won game one. Buggs poor outing was not what we have come to expect from him.

His throw to home probably cost us that game. But we had other opportunities to win.

I was coached my minor league baseball players when I played baseball. We were always taught you play to win today. You worry about tomorrow when that time comes.
