Also, if they dont investigate it they will spend 10x the money defending and probably paying out $$$$$$$$$$$$ because the victims would sue the shite out of the BRPD!

i think with all of the crime in baton rouge the BRPD is spending too much time and resources investigating a barfight in which no one got killed or sustained any life threatning injuries.

Just because it's what you think doesn't mean anything. Not trying to be a arse.

People are more upset that the BRPD is wasting time and resources collecting forensic evidence on a fricking bar fight. I've been in a few mix ups in the bar setting. I've given and taken arse kickings. No one collected over a dozen bags of evidence from my house afterward. It is clearly excessive.

This seems to be a case of money and revenge. These 4 kids were handed an arse kicking and they didn't like it. They contacted a lawyer and decided to press charges because, after the mean old football players are found guilty, they want to sue them for punitive damages and make lots of money, provided one of them makes it to the NFL.

So easy to say "it was a barfight". People have been killed in "barfights" does that mean its ok? Seriously, this wasnt a pushing and shoving match or a black eye. BRPD is doing good!

from Urban Dictionary:
quote:

1. Duffy

"verb/adjective" A terminology commonly used in the inner city of Baton Rouge, La. It is used as another word to described the act of something being or going "crazy" "gangster" "retarded". It caught on after being profusely used in the local documentary "Thuggin It and Lovin It".

"I done already took over Sherwood... I f***s with them boys in Glen Oaks, they already know I go DUFFY!" --Rambeezy

What if they started the sh*t? I doubt the players were out looking to start a fight with 2 weeks to go before one of the biggest opening games in LSU history whenever they shouldn't have even been out in the first place. Not condoning the players, but I don't buy this " the 4 'victims' were completely innocent in this whole ordeal, and not to mention one of them was a marine who was trying to save someone's life" B.S.

Let's get the facts before we start kicking people off the team.

exactly... It all started as a barfight... Now its a incident in which a felony occured and the alleged victim of that felony is pressing charges. Isnt it the BRPDs resposibility to the alleged victim to investigate these claims?

its a high profile case, with a high profile suspect and IMO the BRPD cant frick this up... they need to take every step into either clearing Jefferson or charging him. At this point, letting this go by just saying its "just a bar fight" screams special treatment in this case, even if that isnt occuring.

Doesn't make it ok, but lets make no mistake. Fights happen in bars at a much higher frequency than anywhere else in the civilized world (save for prison). It is not uncommon for young men to get in fights in bars. Demonizing these kids because they are black football players is absurd.

Mark my words. After this case is over a punitive suit will be filed.

no one died, or even came close to death, in this case. I'm sure a handful of the players who ran that early Saturday morning were likely much closer to death than any of the 4-nonplayers were.

are you sure the kid suffered the injury in the fight? It definitely wasn't a pre-existing condition? It definitely didn't happen when he was drunk and stumbling around before getting out of hand?

No it isn't. People get messed up all the time in barfights, broken hands, jaws etc. This has been completely overblown all b/c of a kick. How do we know the kick caused the damage? Wasn't the marine the one that was kicked?

If you truly think he is innocent, wont you be much happier knowing they did a full investigation to clear him?? No one will be able to say the BRPD just turned a blind eye and he got away simply because he was a football player. If you are so damn scared of an investigation, it sounds like you are scared they will find proof he is guilty!

I just want it to go away. No one was even admitted to the hospital.

Team sweep.

Possibly but shouldn't that all be investigated?
