Mettenberger is looking like our QBOTF

quote:

It's all about the improvement game by game, and at the end, taking a look at the entire body of work. Thus far, Mett has made tremendous strides in just 3 games. He's already looking better than all the other rookie QBs not named Carr, and even that one is close (plus Carr has had more games).

quote:

If we get a couple more performances like this by seasons end, I will be jumping for joy knowing we have a potential top-10 QB on our hands. (That is all assuming he builds from there and not just a flash in the pan these 8 games he has)

quote:

I'll go back to the question I posed in August. If the draft was held today would Mettenberger be a 1st round pick? I say not only yes but he'd be top 10 and maybe the 1st QB off the board.

I only know one Titans fan....but he says they are all pretty excited about him.

Plus Mett wears snazzy sweaters.

Did Mett play defense in 2013? Some could argue his 3 int game vs Ole Miss was his best defensive effort thou.

Mett picked up that NFL offense in 6 months (while recovering from acl).
AJ still hasn't learned ours in two years & Harris has had a year.
Don't forget Cam Cameron's offense was just as new to Mettenberger last year as it was to A.J.

The praise seems rather tempered, but I think they should be very excited to have Mett. How many rookie QB's do you see trust the protection and step up INTO the pocket? Not many. Mett plays like a seasoned QB. People, and especially the media, love to give him shite for some reason.

Oh, and frick Whisenhunt for throwing Mett under the bus a few weeks ago.

But, but, this staff doesn't develop players.

I think this is the only thing that everyone gives the staff credit for actually

You obviously haven't read enough threads. This staff gets credit for one thing: fricking up.

Correct. But he was referring to players, and Miles gets more credit then any coach for developing NFL players. And it is also accurate to say developing Qbs is prolly our worst position in terms of this

Hyperbole. This board, as well as our hated ESPN, slobbers over our staffs ability to produce NFL talent

Watt, as usual, was starving for attention and decides to say that taking a selfie means you don't take your job seriously. Watt explains that bullshite after his sack celebration, and Whisenhunt basically licks Watt's jockstrap. Keep in mind, Watt plays for your division rival (if you're a Titans fan), questions your QB's work ethic, and the coach basically affirms what Watt says and does nothing to stick up for his QB. Mett's own teammates had to stick up for him.

Just weak shite, imo.

I live in the Nashville area and can tell you first hand that Titans fans are very excited about Mett. The ones I work with keep asking me about what he did at LSU. They definitely see the upside.

Watt and the TE for the Pats - Wojoehski or something like that - reminds of LT and all the love he got from opposing coaches and the media - especially in nyc.
