Time to Pump the Sunshine - UGA and Kirby Smart

How is UGA doing this year? In his 2nd year, Smart is killing it. Not so good his first year. Very similar to LSU this year. Kirby took over a solid program from a solid coach in Richt. Coach O the same (Les won us a lot of games). But Smart had his ugly growing pains that were very similar to LSU this year with its new regime.
UGA went 8 and 5. Losses to Ole Miss, Tenn, Vandy, Florida and GT. Plus they had a two point win over Nicholls at home (and could have lost that one easy) and a 1 point win over Missouri.
This sound familiar? Give Coach O a chance to finish the year and work on/with his players and coordinators. We are getting significant starters back healthy and can win some more games this year. All this complaining and flaming is just a little premature. We have had some ugly showings for sure this year, but teams can turn things around. It takes just one big play, one big win at the Swamp!
There it is, some Sunshine to Pump

No...Kirby was a successful coordinator. Orgeron has never coordinated anything but a lunch run.
Anything else, other than wishful thinking?

well Smart is a Saban disciple and is likely mirroring everything about his program as nick did.
O is a T-Roy disciple and his mirroring his program after what he did at Ole Miss.

Was Smart a proven failure?

Did Kirby Smart have a previous tenure as one of the worst Head Coaches in SEC history?
Did O ever serve as a top Coordinator under any coach, let alone the best college coach of all time?
Did Smart lose to Troy?
Just curious.

Let's wait and see if this team wins 8 games like UGA did in Smart's first year.

Give me 1 similarity to Smart and Orgeron outside of both currently being HC at SEC schools.

Smart is recruiting at an elite level and he was actually a coordinator.. therefore he has smarts.

The two situations aren’t anywhere near comparable. Give it up already.

If we're being honest, O is a Pete Carroll disciple. He's also coached under other national title winning coaches including Jimmy Johnson, Dennis Erickson, and Les Miles. I don't think it really matters who you try to model your program after if you don't know how to make it work. Every Saban disciple has tried, but then there are the Derek Dooleys and Will Muschamps of the world that don't know how to take what they learned and make it work elsewhere.

This sounds like a DirecTV commercial!

Out of all Saban's disciples, Kirby emulates "The Process" the best.

When did UGA lose to a team on the level of Troy and get dominated most of the game by them?

not defending Oregron, but how confident do you think people were in Smart when he started his career there 3-2, with a blowout loss to Ole Miss, a loss on a hail mary to Tennessee, beating Missouri by just 1, and Nichols State by 2? It was far from an ideal start for UGA last year, and they were VERY close to losing to Nicholls last year. You want to talk about talent mismatches. Nicholls didn't even have a winning record in FCS last year. shite, at least Troy was a 10 win team a year ago.

UGA was also starting a true freshman QB. Kirby hadn't failed in incredible fashion as a HC before. Kirby was also a national championship coordinator.
I envy some of your optimistic views, but personally I only see it going downhill from here.

No. Kirby was a successful coordinator. O never was.
O was 10-25. 3-21 in SEC games.
What exactly is similar?
