(this is long, if do not like, do not read)

Several months ago I said I would be back if we lost but I said I may not be back the next day, but within the week after. It now is still within the week. So Congrats on LSU's win.

I was not one of those that that predicted a large blowout of us with you. I actually chastised many other Ducks here, or on other blogs for doing so. I like to study my enemies well. And I predicted we would win but it would be very low scoring and a close one. And many times I said it really is a coin flip as to who would win. Obviously I was wrong that it was not close and also that we did not win. As far as everything I saw however, not much surprised me about you, your D and such or what you were capable of as I studied your team much ect.

I am not going to make any excuses to losing, as the scoreboard does not lie. Even though we had many more yards vs you, it is the scoreboard one goes by to decide a winner and you thumped us. I will however note that we turned the ball over 4 times and 3 of those times we fumbled the ball near the end zone, making it easy to get those points against us. Now, that does not necessarily mean we lost the game ourselves and you would of not beaten us if we did not gift wrap those 20 points because in honestly, good teams train hard for stripping the ball and such. And one could see it either way, just our errors caused that loss or you were so talented at stripping and it was all part of your mighty D. I would guess both come into play and both are valid and it probably a mixture of both. But again, I do wish to at all rob you of your great victory you had. You beat us and you earned it.

Yes it did suck that our best Linebacker/hardest hitter was not playing for that game. And our All American CB/nations best Punt returner. However with the latter I do not think that would of mattered much. Yes the Freshman who replaced him let a touchdown go, but other then that he did fine. Plus, you guys were incredible on special teams, namely stopping punt returns. Your punter is awesome btw. And though I knew you were great at special teams, your defending special teams were way better then I could of imagined. I doubt our stud punt returner could of done anything with you as he would of had guys all around him by the time he caught a punt.

Anyways, I already knew much of your great D,, how fast you were and so many more things like that. But some things surprised me. Namely what I just said, your punt return D. It was incredible. And you had one backup CB that was awesome too. And then you had this one guy Peterson who is a TE I think. He is very good. And lastly there is Mathiew(sp?). Man, I already knew he was very good watching the film on him but if he does not make 1st team all American this year it should be a crime. That guy just does everything. He is a one man wrecking crew. And he does so many things that will never make the stat books. I did see many interviews of him, even last year and summer and I really like his attitude. He's a awesome player and a good kid. I bet any coach in America would love to have him on his team. That kid just plays all balls out. I can see why you all like him so much!

If I had a vote as best Defensive player of the year I would be torn between him and ASU's MLB Burfict. Both guys literally do so much for their teams D. And well, you had many more guys too.

I happened to of seen the game 3 times since it was played. Yes that play where your DE caught LMJ from behind is cool, however, LMJ was injured during the whole game. Plus, he just got the hand off and was not up to speed where as your DE already was. LMJ is one of the fastest guys in CFB, and anyone suggesting your DE is faster then him would be laughable however. Speaking of injuries, our #2 RB, Barner, who is so critical for our Offense, was injured during most of the game as well. He probably will not play in our next game. His ankle is messed up from our game. And LMJ had ankle issues in that game too vs you as well, plus he had terrible cramps all game. That is why we had to put in our brand new Freshman RB, who probably would not of played a snap in this game but who indeed showed flashes of brilliance filling in. But he did fumble a punt return and the very next time he touched the ball he fumbled a run. It was his first CFB game. I am not at all trying to rob you in any way of your victory, however for me it was sickening to watch this unfold and these stupid fumbles which likely cost us the game. But again, no ones knows how it would of turned out if we did not fumble those 3 times near the end zone gifting you those 20 points. We may of won, we may not of won. It all doesn't matter as you did not win. And I will not use these as excuses per say. I am only venting as to what was troubling to see.

Your team did in fact earn this win. Your coaches had LSU ready. And right before the game started my ex roommate and UO alum called me and said he had a good feeling about this game. And I said, I had the opposite. I was worried because DT would be playing in front of all his relatives for the first time and I bet money his nerves would get to him. My buddy assured me that he learned much from having bad nervousness in the last title game. Nope. DT played bad. So so did our WR's. Bottom line, are WR's suck donkey. They cannot catch a pass to save their lives. If it was not for some RB's or TE's catching passes we would be screwed out of any type of passing. Your D was indeed stellar. I always thought we had just as much talent(if not more, esp on the skill positions) then you and we were just as deep. It is clear to me now, we are not near as deep. And your talent was better overall clear across the board save a few skill positions, imho. And your Offense looked to be better then last year too. Keep in mind, Oregon's D is very underrated. You played a D in Oregon that was #12 last year in giving up points, where as LSU was #11. And we just could not stop the run most of the time. You pounded us. So actually, if we are only going by last year, you beat a really solid D in Oregon. Your Offense should be proud.

Anyways, we would love a rematch vs you in the Title game. But the odds of that happening are very low. I do think LSU will do well this year as you guys look really solid all around. And I would not be surprised if you end up having the best D in the nation this year. However, only one game has been played for each. It's really hard to gauge anything just yet as we each have only played one game. So all of us do not have even the slightest clue how good yet we are or such. If you make it to the title game, I doubt many voters would want to see a rematch with us. Such a thing is usually frowned upon and it bores the rest of the country in rematches. They would want to see fresh faces. And well, it would take many others losing above us for it to even be a consideration.

Anyways, many were right. The team you saw vs you did not look like the team of last year. We were way worse then last year. However it could also be that LSU is that incredible and made us look so bad. Only time will tell really which was the case. We better develop some WR's soon and get our O-line to gel or elts we will be lucky to even play for a small bowl game, guessing from the way we played you. I think we will, but how far away? Will we lose anymore games before we finally gel with the new guys? I don't know. But it would sure be neat to see a rematch in the title game. But I am not holding my breath. At this point in the season we do not deserve it and we have too many issues. But good luck on your season. I hope you make it to Nola.

Man that was long....

Only thing I'd point out is that the 20 points off of turnovers weren't 'gift wrapped' as you put it, they were earned by the Tigers by forcing mistakes.... Other than that, good post, and I respect that you're willing to show up and talk.

Best of luck to the Ducks, I'll be watching and hoping for a PAC 10 championship for you this year (you've got a great shot) and a Rose Bowl.

Yeah, but you didn't gift us anything. Those balls were punched out, not just fumbled without contact.

Takes balls to come back and take your punishment (if you're still around). Fairly solid post, but Oregon did not "give up" all of those fumbles ... LSU forced them. And LBJ and Barner's injuries were caused by a fast, aggressive defense ... they didn't happen slipping in the shower.

Bottom line is that the game could have been different had Oregon not turned the ball over, or had LBJ and Barner been at full speed, but the fact of the matter is that LSU was the reason those things happened.

Good luck and I hope Oregon wins out the remainder of the year.

Nice post and good luck the rest of the season. Hopefully, we'll get a few of our players back also and be even stronger the rest of the season.

FWIW, LSU was without 3 offensive starters.
Your team got it's collective arse spanked.
Deal with it.

Plus we had three fumbles and out hustled O for the ball. Great teams make great plays.

LSU need to get the university Lawyers together again. And file the necessary legal papers to issuer Injury Wavers. To the next football team LSU is going to play.
If the Oregon Ducks really did have a very good defense team. Then the rest of the LSU opponents are in a world of trouble.
Injury will pile up because this LSU team is apparently just that good.
Make the next team sign the wavers!? This LSU fighting tiger team just can’t help it.

I am sorry, but I only worded it that way way because all our fans think of it that way, but I did clearly draw out that this may not be the case, that LSU's D could indeed be so incredible and they probably had trained hard on how to strip balls and that may of been a more cause. Or maybe it was a mixture of both(my guess). If you look at it logically, 2 of this fumbles were to a young kid that never played a CFB game yet. If you saw the way he was carrying the ball it was a no brainier. However that may be, I can tell LSU trains hard on trying to strip the ball. And I do not mean in any way to cheapen those great Defensive plays that LSU did to strip the ball. I was just saying that one cannot know for sure which is the case or more the cause. IMHO, I think it was a mixture of both. But true, LSU should still get all the credit for those takeaways and if I were you I would not except anyone trying to make those excuses or rob you of them. That alone takes great skill and I was just trying to point out both sides of thought is all. Again, great plays from your D. You did indeed earn it!

My only issue is that I keep seeing Duck fans talk about DT having a bad game throwing the ball. If you watch this game closely he was under a lot of pressure every time he dropped back and those guys were pretty big and fast. When you have to get rid of the ball early it's likely the throws won't be as accurate.

Thanks for being a man about it. Honestly, your fan base has some work to do. I've seen more excuses/whining/delusional thinking this last week than I ever had.

And not to be a total dick, but this is kinda' what I'm talking about:

Is it really fair for you to skip through the rest of your schedule then get a title shot. The 1 game you have all year, you lost. You play 1 other top 25 school all year (Stanford - who is overrated b/c of their crap schedule)

LSU's schedule looks something like this:

Auburn
Alabama
Arkansas
Mississippi State
Florida

Oh, yeah...and for out of conference

Oregon
West Virginia

I really appreciate the fact that you're coming to eat a little crow, but you're still delusional and frankly, very entitled. A 3 loss SEC West team would deserve a title shot before Oregon. How on earth do you figure you should be in the title game?
