Right, and the only thing wrong on 9-11 was 3,000 people died. Other than that, it was a really nice day in New York.
That's the worst analogy you could have come up with. To compare those two is really bad judgement on your part.

I love how everyone finally takes the P&G glasses and realizes Mett is flawed. I said it since day 1, he has a ton to work on. He's a very gifted QB physically but he doesn't have it mentally. Now people are seeing why he didn't start last year. He has no pocket presence, holds the ball too long, and stares WRs down. Better defenses (USCe, Bama, Florida) are going to eat him alive. He's not going to make it a full season at LSU, IMO.
That being said, if this oline can ever figure out how to pass block, he'll be a superstar. He's a thousand x better than what we've seen the past four years at LSU. You can see his potential but if he doesn't learn how to make reads faster and get rid of the ball, he might end up in a hospital with the abortion we call oline.
I can name six QBs right off the top of my head who are pocket passes in the SEC past three years who got knocked the frick out in SEC play. Now you know why Miles liked a QB who could extend plays with his feet.

Mett is not the QB as advertised.. I JJ was playing last nite we would be bashing him.
JJ would have been sacked 7 or more times last night.

I could not agree more. Fixing our team's problems is simple and basic...get the best five OL out there and give them reps. Hopefully that takes place vs Towson.

Lmao you people on here crack me up. Zach Mett made a couple mistakes but played pretty damn good considering the lack of blocking. If you guys want to see the ball thrown down field the he has to have time. A three step drop will not do it. If your gonna talk shite and rag on anyone it should be the Oline. Get off Mett and get on them. What about wide receivers dropping balls, get on there asses and off Metts. It is horrible to drop balls put in your hands. If those catches are made its a whole different game. Get off the QB and get on the others. That being said I bet USC would love to have beat Stanford by 2 lol

Here's the problems from last night:
1. bad o-line play: the SEC's worst defense consistently drove them back on 3rd and short and was able to get consistent pressure on Mett. If our o-line can't knock Auburn off the line of scrimmage on 3rd and short, how are they going to be able to get that crucial first down against Alabama, South Carolina, or Florida?
2. WR: Not only were the receivers having massive amounts of trouble getting open, but when they were open, they dropped a lot of passes, WAAAAAAY too many passes. This could be a huge liability in later games.
3. Terrible officiating: This has become par for the course on the Plains, but they were in rare form last night. Several ghost holding calls, non calls on Auburn holding, blocks in the back, pass interference, et al. The spot on Mett's run was criminal. Mett dove over the marker, and they marked him a yard shy of the first down. That should have been challenged. It showed just how much power the refs have on a game.
4. Bad offensive play calling: 3rd and 2 and you run the ball out of the shotgun? WTF? Just bad play calling.

Agree with all of this! Some of the "fans" on this site need to realize that THEY annointed Mett before he took one snap as the starting quarterback. He's doing a great job, but not quite living up to their "Mettsiah" crap, so they are quick to jump on him for not being perfect. We got so used to blaming the QB over the last 4 years that we don't even realize the blame can (and should) go elsewhere on games like last night.
Yes, the receivers dropped some passes and that needs to be addressed either with a change in personnel or with increased drills/reps. But the horrific pass blocking is THE concern in my book. For any team to be successful, they have to dominate in the trenches. Our DL is doing that and our OL is close to dominant at run blocking. However, when it comes to pure passing downs they are being killed. That has to be fixed.

It's the O-line dude. Mett's makes the throws when he has time.

To the OP and his ilk:
My gosh, "concerned" about what? LSU's quarterback? Maybe you should be "concerned", instead, about how you allow the outcome of a football game make you so unhappy that you sulk; then, feel the need to whine about it on the Internet, as though everyone should be sympathetic to you.
