He went to OCS because WM ran the option and he was a wide receiver. It was a good choice and he flourished at OCS.

Slaughter's batting stance and weight shift wouldn't fly with my son's batting coach.

Micah likes it.

I honestly cant believe people are saying Slaughter hasnt been impressive defensively

There's no doubt he struggled at 1st the last few games, but he's been solid defensively before that.

He has saved a lot of really bad throws to 1st.

But he commited to LSU baseball, what, sophomore year? He seemed real focused on football.

So he wanted to get a pass thrown his way for the few remaining years he had left playing football in HS. Quit going out of your way to make the kid look bad, it's like he banged your girl and made you watch or something.

Kramer was 3 for 4, including a homerun, and a walk for a .800 on-base percentage last night, scored 2 runs and batted in 3 runs.

Good call, coach.

FWIW, Gibbs seemed much more involved last night. I'm sure he has done his fair share of coaching in the dug out, but he spent a lot of time with the guys on deck last night.

I noticed that, too. Maybe he read Rabalais' column in the Advocate this week where Gibbs was called "a battlefield promotion" after Cannizaro left. Rabalais hinted the promotion might not be working out.
