Well, maybe not "finna"...but I do believe sooner than later there will be wonderful 4 course meals for us long suffering mens hoop fans.

I am not easily impressed by hype surrounding new coaches, but I do get the sense that this may be the best BB hire in a long time.

I've heard plenty of talk about Sampson not seeing eye-to-eye with Wade's system, but Reath has never struck me as someone who isn't going to work and play hard.
Anyway, I love how blunt Wade is. Even with his unfamiliar terms on defense, he still flat out says athleticism, length, and playing with intensity is going to give you a great defense. in other words, LSU had some athleticism, but our players didn't give a frick last season

I'd be surprised if Sampson is on the team this upcoming season. Reath on the other hand was one of the few guys who tried to show energy early in SEC play even when LSU was getting thumped. I think as the season went along he got tired of being the only guy who seemed like he cared. I'm not worried about him going into this season.

Well, every broadcaster/color analyst essentially said the same thing last year during every game. Maybe the biggest part of playing great defense is the desire to defend. LSU's players never really had that under Jones, and Jones never cared enough to change that mentality.

It's really a wonderful opportunity for Sampson. He improved a decent bit from frosh-soph, so there's that natural third year leap. He'd be one of the better and capable shooters on the squad, and has the type of body that excels in Wade's system. Will he put in the work and not scoff if he isn't "the guy"? Guess time will tell. It's time to play D and realize that operating within a team is gonna be more conducive to his own profile and success than 1-2 more years of helter-skelter unorganized bullshite.

Couldn't agree with you more though. I'm actually excited for basketball for the first time since the final four run we made and when I thought Ben Simmons was going to bring us deep into the tournament.

Coach wade is driven. Really looking forward to watching him build this program into his own. Just the stuff he's been preaching will vastly improve the product we put on the court as opposed to previous years. Just hope he can start bringing in high profile recruits to help make this program what it once was.

Everytime I hear Wade make comments like that, I assume he is talking to Brandon Sampson through the media.
I think Sampson is the wildcard. He would have an excellent season and be LSU's leading scorer, or he could kicked the team tomorrow.

My expectations for this team are so low I don't even expect to make the tourney.
If this dude somehow gets this team together and makes it there with this cast, I'm sold.
