If Saban did this in the same situation these same people would be gushing over "man,he wants to win !"

Tulane. Miles is down to his 4th string RB in Ridley for crying out loud. Besides, no position player in all of professional sports has a shorter shelf life than an NFL running back. They are pretty much done by the time they hit 30. If Ford is as good as advertised, he sure as hell isn't going to spend 5 years at LSU anyway. And if he's not as good as advertised, why are you so concerned about him losing his redshirt?

I concur with this.

Except for the blowout part, its the exact same. This game is meaningless (other than for Miles' coaching career here, hmmmmmmmmmmmm.)

Wait, didn't $abans retarded arse burn a redshirt for one of the kids (a DB) during a SEC championship game or was it a bowl game?
Hmmmm....that's retarded!
Furthermore at this point in the season I THINK it's up to the and maybe the parents! Like I said I THINK that's the case.

my guess would be that Ford is hoping to play. I personally think it would be pointless, but you could weigh getting him some experience now for next year vs. wondering if you'll heavily rely on him 4 years from now.

If Les was in the SECCG, i'd be okay with it.

But if you've noticed, he's not.

At this point Miles will do whatever it takes to beat Arkansas and save his job. He knows it's now or never.

There will be some pretty pissed off people if he does that after sitting him all year.

Instaed of playing him I think miles should send our game plan to arky. That would mess them up because they wouldnt believe it.Listen arky we are going to run off tackle on first and second down so make sure you put up a six man line and on third down we are going to throw to toliver so make sure you double team him because we dont go to another reciever after we picked one. Besides when these plays dont work we will just blame our line.

This has always been my argument against redshirting RBs. If they're good, they won't stay 5 years. If they're not good enough to leave after 4 years, they probably aren't that good anyway and have been passed up on the depth chart. But that was an argument for having Ford play all season. At this point, I would only do it if Ridley goes down. We say the 2 games are meaningless--and they might be to us. But I bet they aren't to the players, especially the SRs. They shouldn't have to forfeit their last 2 games so that 1 dude can be a SR in 2013 instead of 2012.

Ford needs some meaningful reps so that he will be productive in the bowl game. I think that is Miles' philosophy.

If he was planning on giving Ford 25 carries in each of the next two games I could somewhat see the logic, but at most Ford would get 3-4 carries and that is a freaking waste. Give Holliday those balls

I don't see the big deal either way.

Ford is here to play football. You attempt to Red-shirt him because you have 2 Sr. RB's. Both of which are now hurt.
Now your playing Ark and if you need M.Ford to help win the game, you do it.
Until KW got hurt, there was no need to pull the redshirt. Now there may be a huge need.

And to say this game means nothing isn't close to right. This is a big game, if it means the difference between the Cotton and the Liberty bowl. Pretty sure there's a huge difference in payout for LSU.

I think the only way M.Ford plays in this game is if Ridley gets hurt early. Besides that, you'll see Ridley, Shepard, and some Trindon.

and our program definitely needs a victory in the Cotton or Peach Bowl.

There is no arguing against this being a completely bonehead move,
