I still don’t buy into us being a baseball version of A&M. I don’t doubt guys getting some deals, but I don’t think Jay is landing guys because we are outbidding everyone.

LSU is Top 3 brand in CBB and arguably #1.
Plenty holes to fill, great class coming in and NIL money are all part of it.

You would be dumb then. LSU is one of the few profitable baseball programs. The deals are likely not as competitive as football because most programs don't care about baseball. LSU does and will spend money to win a championship. Between that, JJ's recruiting, and university prestige it's a perfect storm.

In general I don’t think that it’s a trend to transfer to teams you beat BUT I definitely understand the team that just got beat wanting to acquire the talents they witnessed up close and personal.
On the other hand, I dislike that Waldrep is leaving southern miss. I understand it’s because of money and I hope he chooses lsu but I don’t like the precedent it sets.
Southern miss made it to the super regionals for the first time in like 20 years and they return their entire team minus the center fielder. In my perfect world, players wouldn’t leave a good/proven situation to be a one year rental.

USM had been in tournament last 8 years. USM only major that gave Waldrep chance. He should stay his last year and will be in the major league money next year.

The rumor in baseball circles is that lsu is spending more on nil than anyone because of the lack of recent success and we happen to have some really rich baseball donors
