They're on pace to exceed nearly everyone's preseason expectation. While I was hoping for a run similar to 2011, this team is still young with a first year starter at QB.

The Tigers only have one Senior on offense(Vadal) and one on defense(Deion Jones). Sure we'll lose a handful as early entries, but let's look at this Bama team.

Bama offensive Seniors:
QB: Coker
RB: Drake
C: Kelly
RT Jackson
WR: Mullaney
FB: Nysewander

Likely early entries: Derrick Henry and OJ Howard

Bama Defensive Seniors:
NG: Lake
DE: Reed
LBs: Lee & Ragland
Jack: Devall
DBs: Cyrus Jones & Geno Matias-Smith

Likely early entries: A'Shawn Robinson, Rueban Foster, Eddie Jackson

So LSU started 3 Seniors(including Mills being back)vs 13 for Bama. I was hoping for a magical run ala 2011, but the writing was on the wall with this team....they still have areas they need to significantly improve and they need to grow up.

So, here's to us winning out and finishing in the top 5 and playing for it all next year!!!

I predict this year will be like previous years after Miles and company shite the bed; LSU will lose at least 2 more games and many players will bolt for the NFL (even if they are not ready).

Wait until next year, when you see how young the linebackers are

I dont see a fall off with Bama. Saban wins the recruiting title almost every year and reloads.

I don't ever remember having started 13 seniors. Lets face it, we lose way too many underclassmen to the draft. We have played the most freshman over the past 4 or 5 years and people either leave early for the draft or they transfer if they don't start by their sophomore year. Its multiple factors that come into play.

It's silly to talk about.

But to me, Reggie Ragland was a better player last year than Kendell Beckwith is this year.

Ragland comes back and there seems to be not a doubt that Beckwith is leaving.

I guess that's more frustration than anything to me.

2016 is LSUS best chance to to compete for the playoffs.

This team is a year away and still has a great chance to finish with 1 loss
