Replay the video, plenty of opportunities if LSU has a talented Oline. Joe throws a pass to the left slot reciever as he breaks up the middle, there was no safety anywhere, just all open field. The ball was tipped at the line, great O linemen protect against that.

Just about everything Bama ran on offense was quick and the ball was gone. The few plays LSU did that were generally more successful. However, a lot of what LSU ran was slow, play action with a long route. Play action is useless when you aren’t or can’t run the ball.

Oline made a piss poor attempt to chop block defender and did it either way to early in the play or Burrow took to long to get rid of the ball (which is nothing new), Dline are taught to get hands up immediately when they are chopped blocked, means a slant/crossing route is coming in behind them and offense ideally needs both O and D linemen to get down to clear room for the throw. Forgot who the defender was on this play your talking about, but he had time to read the block settle his feet look at Burrow and play the ball as he threw it.

Ensminger is not the problem. beating the shite out of Georgia proves that.

some idiots think that calling plays is all there is to running an offense. Ensmingers play calling has been pretty good. however, it doesn't matter what play you call when you can't run between the tackles, you can't run wide, you can't block well enough to give your QB time to let plays develop and throw. we ran plenty of quick throws last night and completed some; they just weren't enough. several of the passes were blocked but mostly we had to run short routes and even they were covered most of the time.

Play action was pointless. The DBs weren’t even paying attention to the run.

LSU’s Oline was so dominated, that there’s not an offensive coach in the NFL that would succeed. I was shocked at how much they got pushed around. Be embarrassed to say I start on LSU’s Oline.

Oline needs to be better coached and juiced.

I agree. The OC is not to blame. The Head Coach is to blame for promoting him.

How does an o-lineman protect against defender jumping in the air to bat down the pass? (please say cut block, because our guy hit the ground trying to cut block but the dude stop rushing and waited for the pass to be thrown). That's a technique they're taught to help defend the slant route that we completed a couple of times.

Great points on this topic....You needed to adjust...Watching the game it was painfully obvious the OL was not protecting and giving the time to run play action...The coaching staff (my opinion only) needed to adjust..And if the playbook has no option "b" plan, does not practice multiple sets then this is what you should expect (my opinion).....Bama is just on another level....When they showed some aerial shots of Bama's defense there were zero open options to throw the ball and with no running game it was going to be a long night...
