This is what LSU needs to do

Sit Miles down in a room and tell him that he can keep his job on one condition: he hires a new OC and gives him total control over the offense.
I'll be honest, yesterday I wanted Miles canned. His refusal to adapt his offensive philosophy is slowly sucking the life out of the program and the excitement out of the fans. However, despite his stubbornness, there is no denying his record, as he has managed to win a lot of games and has done a great job maintaining the success of the program. While he does deserve criticism for his recent underachievement, I do not think that the guy deserves to be fired. It's obvious that Miles wants to finish his coaching career at LSU until retirement so he can watch his kids grow up and enjoy his life here.
I am worried about this next hire because LSU is in a strange situation here. If we fire a coach that has had this amount of success, we have to have a guy ready to step in immediately with proven head coach experience. Otherwise, this will look very bad on the LSU administration. LSU is an attractive job in and of itself, but I have a feeling Alleva will find some way to frick this up, if he hasn't already. This situation has painted LSU in a poor light, making us look spoiled with unrealistic expectations. Even though we do not see it that way, the national media has and everyone that does not watch LSU football on a regular basis is shocked that we are considering firing a coach with this record. It has been handled poorly and it falls strictly on the AD.
So I think you give Miles another chance with this one condition. If he really loves LSU and wants to stay here, he will cave in and accept and we will have an amazing 2016 season. If not, then cap his arse.
Regardless of how the next couple of weeks plays out, Alleva needs to GTFO of Baton Rouge.

He already lets the OC's do things their way. For example, have you seen the short-side option used a single time since Crowton was shown the door?

Jesus, man. It's over. He has had his chance. He has been through multiple offensive coordinators and years after what should've been the ultimate come to jesus moment, 1/9. His chances are up. Overcome the stockholm syndrome.

If you're having to tell a head coach how to run his team then it's time for a new coach. You don't micromanage a coach making that kind of money.

He is too stubborn and will not change no matter what. How many OC's have we gone thru taking blame with the same offense returning year after year?

The problem with giving Les one more year is with his coaching style this team a year older wins 10 games and then we give him another year to not develope the younger talent on the team. This fan base will not be happy until we have a Bama type run and it just is not going to happen with him as our coach.

Here are thoughts on this
Do you honestly think he can and will do this?
What has he done to show you this? Miles has never changed.
No matter how hard you try to sell it there will be speculation of Les being fired next year, so which OC would want to come to LSU for an unstable job?
I would ask you to really look at the last few years and tell me that Miles has not lost a step. 10 wins a year is not what it used to be. Throw in the amount of money that Les and his staff are making and is it worth it? No.
I am worried as well. The cat has been let out of the bag and no attempt has been made to put the cat back into the bag. This could come back and bite them in the arse.
That is what the media does. They only tell part of the story and twist that to fit their narrative. The only goal they have is to sell adds to make money.
As far as LSU fans looking spoiled, I have to disagree. LSU fans are paying a lot of money for a product that does not meet expectations. I could see if LSU fired a coach a year after winning a national championship because he didn't repeat. That would be spoiled. Look at Alabama, they are spoiled. However when you have a coach at LSU who is making the amount of money that he is and his performance has declined over the past few years that is not spoiled.
I think this is a very bad idea. What good could come from this? Miles is a great guy, but as soon as money gets involved it becomes business. This would be a huge blow to the LSU program. Assistants would start jumping ship, and recruits would follow.
Miles brought this on himself. When he squeezed LSU for more money by playing the Arkansas card, he upped the ante and now he can't deliver. It's time for him to go.

Manny plays football for UNC.
Ben is a Jr. @ Catholic BR on their football team and will probably go to college somewhere other than LSU if Les isn't HC.
Macy is 11. I doubt Les will stay in BR if he's not coaching. He's already stated that he isn't ready to retire.

I am a fan of Les and hope he continues as the HC. But my man is awful at hiring coordinators.
