This is the worst loss of the Johnny Jones era

Given the circumstances. If you want to say the NC State game last year in the tournament was worse, that's fine. But this team should have a higher ceiling than last year's team.
We're sitting atop the SEC standings with a chance to win the conference. A big home game that could go a long way determining our NCAA Tournament chances/seeding. A lot on the line.
Now, I'm not saying this is all Jones' fault. Don't get me wrong, the staff was terrible tonight (as usual). We had 3 timeouts remaining with a little over a minute left in the game. We stayed in the zone for no reason, when everyone but our coaching staff could tell it was killing us and giving up wide open shots over and over again, while we also couldn't rebound out of it. Don't give me the crap about us staying in it because Victor had 4 fouls. You can't sacrifice that many open shots and rebounding just for that reason.
But besides that, the effort tonight was ridiculously terrible. No heart. Obviously, we had a lot of guys who had bad offensive nights, but that doesn't excuse playing with shite effort. We couldn't rebound, we committed lazy fouls, we were just bad on defense overall.
Missed free throws and layups left and right. Alabama had 14 turnovers to our 5 turnovers, and we still couldn't win the game.
Passive on offense. Shot way too many three pointers. Didn't get the ball inside enough. Just awful. No energy inside the building tonight either.
I know Alabama has come on strong lately, but they aren't some great team. They are challenged offensively, and we honestly match-up very well with them. Losing this game could honestly be a season-changer. I am no longer confident in this team accomplishing anything.

I would still consider getting Rick Ray'ed the worst loss.
This season could very well have 2014 written all over it.

LSU deserves a better basketball program and thus a better coach.

LSU just loss to one of the hottest teams in the SEC at the moment. This isn't even close to one of the worst losses

We should've hired Avery a long time ago. I was afraid of this. We have the #1 pick and were out coached with less talent. Not to mention we were on double bonus in the final 11!

Sadly only about 10 people with any kind of clout give a damn that could influence the athletic department.
Nobody who matters ($$$ to the program) gives a damn about who the coach is.

I'm not convinced we make the tournament. The losses are piling up.

If we can't even do well with all the talent we have on the floor NOW then I'm terrified how we're going to look next year when everyone either bolts or graduates

I like Johnny personally. Hell, I think most do. If he misses the tourney, he needs to be gone as soon as the selection show is over.
This was the year. Recruiting next season is not great and we lose A LOT. We gave the ol boy network a try. Time to try something else.

I dont disagree with you ALOT BUT... Last years team was better with veteran M&M plus basically the same shooters around them.

I've made this same claim a time of 10 in the CJJ era but this argument makes the most compelling case.

Doesn't matter.
Home conference game when you are in position to win the regular season title.
Piss poor effort.
