Talent wise we are a tourneyment team. Blakeney is an all conf player reath is a 2nd or 3rd team type with rare versatility. Sims mays and heyward are highly rated recruits. Sampson is a quality starter. Epps is a sarter/6th man type at most places and Jenkins and Patterson are solid rotation guys. Even Elbert with a competent coach is a serviceable backup big. With a top coach this team doesn't lose 10 games with a solid coach (Avery Johnson type) they're a tourneyment team.

Only one true NBA guy in Blakeney. Talent isn't that great, but certainly shouldn't be getting down by 20 points at some point of every game.

Having a team with talent doesn't mean having a team of NBA guys. Were you around for the Dale Brown era? Some of his most successful teams were full of "good" but not elite players. And this was in an era when elite guys stuck around for more than one year, so some of his competition was loaded with NBA talent.

Take the rose colored glasses off. This team the way it is now couldn't compete in the Southland Conference. Our program is now just mediocre. Getting a coach like a Stansbury would be a hugh up lift. He would bring stability to our sinking program and he can recruit. He would be a solid pick.
