He was but at the same time his junior year he turned in dominant performances game after game in May-June leading LSU to the championship series. If he gets the ball in game 3 no one remembers anything he did his sophomore season.

His freshman year he was a surprise, sophomore year he had his struggles with control but became a better pitcher because of it (maybe what Mainieri was implying), junior year outside of four bad starts he was everything you ask of an ace.

Presently I'd be amazed at a Nat seed award.
Let's see some SEC action before making bold statements.

Well, we don’t have our shortstop jamming our third baseman into the stands on a ball that was called. So there’s that.

I find it amazing that you remember that play.

If you read any of my post I am constantly preaching about how 1 game, 1 series doesn't make a season. It is mostly in response to people melting over one bad game/loss. Today's game in particular has nothing to do with me making that statement.

I stand corrected.

What is really funny, is a positive statement on this site is laughed at and ridiculed after 4 weekend series, plus midweek games. But having a total meltdown after every single loss is acceptable.

Starting pitching is not quite as good
