This baseball team is a lot like 2008 at this point

15-2 in the last 17 and 10 in a row. 11-1 to finish SEC play. 2008 was 12-0. The bats are on fire like 2008. The biggest difference is this team has way more pitching. 2008 didn't have much firepower and depth. 2017 has all the pieces to make a deeper run in Omaha. But 2017 is mashing through the SEC tournament like 2008 did.

What would our streak be if we would have beaten South Alabama?

Disagree. I could detail but it's been so long you wouldn't even see the comparison.

Yeah no streak like that, but we were very strong with power and good pitching.

That 08 team had a better power lineup than this one. It's not even similar how they're constructed.

I don't even know what that means. You sitting near a media guide and ready to look up stats? If you knew anything you'd know the way this team is constructed isn't anything like 2008. Instead you're relying on win streak and tournament results to draw a conclusion.

Excellent comparison. 14-1 in the last 15 SEC games is unreal.

Ehhh the only similarity to 2008 is the hot streak. This team is top to bottom better hitting and pitching. 2017 really underachieved in March and April only to dominate in May, and it's averaging out to be what we expected: a national seed. 2008 played over their heads. It was truly an amazing run given the relatively less talented team.
