Yep. No COVID or political unrest disruptions. Just sucking since the start of conference play.

This team didn’t have Covid taking their offseason and necessary practice time for a completely new coaching staff and team to gel away either. This is far worse than the 2020 football season

Eh it’s similar in some ways but I’m confident JJ can fix it. Our upper level vocal leadership is missing from this team. I don’t see JJ in Destin tanning and laying pipe in the off season after a bad year

Meh. Let me know if they have 11 scholarship players and position players pitching in 2025. Then the “fall from grace” will be complete.

Less than 2 years after the title Orgeron had 39 scholarship players and a WR playing QB in a bowl game.

Why are you so confident? He went two years in a row without a regional appearance at Arizona, and was likely headed for a third if COVID hadn't intervened.

One thing is certain about this season, it has really highlighted how many retards we have in the fan base.

That happened last year with the “won’t win a regional” crowd

Main difference being O, who had a track record of shite vs JJ who has a track record of winning.

Jay has a shite season, it happens. O had not only good season, but arguably GOAT tier. Guy legit hit a billion dollar jackpot on a scratch off.

I believe if you read the Op properly he is specifically talking about only one year. As in thr drop of the football team from 2019 to 2020. Everyone believes JJ will right the ship, so a comparison over multiple years is not relevant to this discussion.

Look on the brightside, when all these other teams are battling through to Omaha, Jay is out recruiting the portal.

What's crazy imo is that LSU knew this and still signed him. People complained about PM but he had us in the post season all but 1 yr.

Can’t compare the two. So far this season in conference we have played 2,3,16, and 17. We still have to play #1 and #23. On top of that our out of conference record is pretty remarkable and includes a win over the current #18 ranked team.

There aren’t a ton of teams that will end up playing the #1 ranked team in the nation in a weekend series twice in one season. Outside of a few terrible Sundays this team was in every game against the best competition college baseball has to offer.

There isn’t a single team in college baseball that wants LSU to make their regional.

Has the season been disappointing? Sure. None of us expected to be on the verge of not making the tournament. But it in no ways compares to 2020 and the Joke that LSU football quickly became after the 2019 championship.

There’s always next year. And football coming right up. After we lose the first football game we’ll call for the firing of Kelly and forget all about 2024 baseball.
