Great post my friend. Only the small minded idiots think Miles should be fired for winning at least 10 games every year. I'm so sick of the Saban comparisons. He left us if everyone doesn't remember. Miles has been loyal to LSU by turning down jobs at his alma mater and higher paying jobs. We are no doubt lucky to have Les Miles as our coach for as long as he wants to coach

Bobby Bowden in 34 years at FSU only won 2
And he lost like 6. FSU was in the MNC in '98, '99, and '00.
Just putting that out there.

Well, in the last 5 years there are only 4 teams that have claimed a title in the last half decade and we have to play the other 3 every year. So, 1 every 5 years may be too much to ask.
This should truly be a point of clarity for the fans. In this dominant run for the SEC that started in Les' second season, he has been VERY competitive in 5 of the 7 years that this conference has won titles. He's played for it twice.
I have a want for him to be our coach as long as he has a want to enjoy the competition.

is a fair field also important.
did sec refs turn the game for au in 06?
did sec refs give al the leg up in 09, esp vs lsu?
did sec refs give au the leg up in 10 by giving cam a pass?
did sec push for mulligan.
wow, if you threw those games toward lsu lm would have 5nc's!!!
ONE THING MORE important than a national title is a FAIR field.
les is a fair man. lsu is a fair school.
for that to be passed from lm to players and students, well, frick the ranturds.

See, the sunshine pumpers have the wrong impression.
I do not expect national championships every year. I just expected one last year, when we were the best team in the country. But instead, we blew it. Your Bowden example proves something to further my point.. You only get dealt a great hand every so often, so you have to take advantage of it when you are dealt one. Instead, 21-0. I expected one this year, too. We have such a good team. What's been happening lately is just ridiculous.
I don't expect 14-0 out of 10-2 teams. If we deserve to be 10-2, if our team is only as good as 10-2, I can be happy with 10-2, or 13-1. But can any fan here say that we weren't good enough to be 14-0 last season? We had it written all over our faces. We dominated last season. It was ours. Les Miles blew it.
That's why I'm upset with 13-1, and 10-2. Not because it's not good, but because we can do better with what we have RIGHT NOW.

Why? Because we had two losses and it took some dominos to fall to get to the game?
If anybody has a "bogus" title, it's Alabama's last one.

shite on the team you claim to be fan of because you hate the coach. You continue to get worse.
Seriously? You are going to try and discredit lsu's championship. I feel bad for you.

our expectations . . . but we need to be more realistic
Those suggesting we should actively replace Les are less than sober. I get that.
If you're going to introduce Bowden successes (and lack thereof) at FSU it should be pointed out that:
a) Bowden inherited an FSU program that was on the verge of being discontinued. There were zero expectations of success there. Completely dissimiliar from Les here in '05.
b) It wasn't until FSU actually won a NC in '93 that they expected to win them. It was six seasons later that they won their next, i.e., 2 in 7 seasons. That's better than Les.
c) FSU finished in the top-5 for 14 consecutive seasons.
d) Bowden won 377 games as HC. Not sure where Les stands but but he's probably has about 25 ten-win seasons to go to catch-up.
Watch this: coaches will always and without exception be evaluated on not only what they actually do accomplish but also what they within reason could have accomplished.
Bobby is still living. Maybe we should hire him?

It must be so obvious that I somehow overlooked it when I typed it?
Please elaborate. I did not intend to flame in this particular post.

Well said (but I wouldn't consider myself upset; just know we could be realistically celebrating more championships.)
I go back to 1970 (first game). Then I (and most Tiger fans) only wanted to beat our rivals (OM and Tulane) and go to a bowl. There was little expectations of winning championships. When Arnsparger came along he changed my thinking with his post-State game interview (which clinched the '86 SEC for us). He stressed that we were SEC champs.
