The toonces logo

Watching the LSU all access show on ESPN 2 and noticed there are zero toonces logos in, on, or around the football facilities. None of the coaches wear it, the players don't wear it, there is no toonces on or in any of the stadiums or team uniforms...yet LSU pushes this on the fans when they themselves don't even represent it.

Yep. I can choose not to wear it. What bothers me is seeing it representing us as our logo on tv.

because the people running the university is gonna milk that fricking logo for every cent it is worth.. even though they could probably make 3-4x more bank with a different one

Is toonces even still the logo? I thought it was changed? Could be wrong though.

I get the "want" to do that, but they don't even stand behind their product except when that goofy shite pops up next to LSU's name during games

Toonces sucks and it really hurts LSU's marketing sales.

I did notice it was on the cover of the game book on Chavis's desk... which was somewhat disappointing to me.

It's a conspiracy. They know if we had a badass logo the old stuff wouldn't sell as much. They know people will buy it regardless.

They use the head of toonces on TV it seems, but they still have a shite load of the old toonces on the shelves

Proof? I believe LSU's merchandise sales are through the roof. I think we on TD are a bit nearsighted. My wife and friends didn't know the Toonces association until I told them recently.
Of course if we used this one below, we'd have no problem!

The keep it because "it's sold so much since it's been released". Totally ignoring the fact that we started winning and all the bandwagoners started loading up on lsu apparel. Not because they thought it was. Cool logo, because they had to stock up on LSU gear and this abomination of a logo happened to birth after we became an elite program.

Couldn't agree with you more. In fact, that logo is an artists' rendition of one of our Actual Mikez, III or IV I believe. Thus is an actual representation of our school and not some heinous third-rate NYC design firm bull sheet that cheapened our look to appeal to the masses.

My hope is that it's pretty much gone but there is so much merchandise out there that we won't see it totally gone for some time. I would think that LSU knows how the fan base feels about it.

How does lsu force it on you?
Lsu uses multiple logos because people have different tastes. Unless you get all your gear from albertsons or walmart it is VERY easy to find "non toonces" gear
