The success at LSU over the last 10 years has been due to defense.

Defense has been the difference in making it to championship games, elite bowls, and winning top ten matchups.

Considering Miles has ZERO to do with the defense, why is he such a great coach?

Chavis has added 3 or 4 years to Miles time at LSU for sure.

yeah, really?

Which of the teams that went to Atlanta, a BCS bowl, or a championship game got there due to even average level offensive output?

2006, 2007

ETA: In 2011 we scored a boatload of points as well outside of the two Bama games, but I give the defense some credit for creating short fields.

Because most fans, including myself, tries to enjoy the wins regardless of what was staring us right in the face. We used the excuse that it wasn't pretty but it worked when it fact, his Offense was doing everything it could to take us out of games. Without an experienced D, we are going to lose 4-5 games. With a great D, we will lose 2-3.

no I completely agree that LSU needs a true elite defense to be successful

but to claim that Miles has ZERO to do with the defense is just being dishonest to fit your agenda

if the defense sucked, you most certainly would hold Miles responsible

Miles has said the defense is all Chief.

Is Miles a liar?

Miles played CFB as a LB so I assume he knows some things...

Speaking of fail, you forgot to address our offense in 2006, 2007 and 2011.

2006 and 2007 had a pretty good offense. 2013 had a very good offense but for once no defense and also 2011 we scored a lot of points

I don't think we get to Atlanta in '07 without how the O was playing. The D alomst collapsed down the stretch (vs Bama, OM, Arky, tOSU).
