I would love to hear someone ask coach in one of his pressers this week to speak about the following:

How is it possible that in all 3 games this year, we have come out in the second half and looked noticeably worse compared to the first half?

Is it lack of player motivation? Are we being completely out-coached at halftime?

You have played your opponent for 30 minutes and have the ability to make changes where needed and motivate your guys, yet in every game this year we come out completely flat-lined and can't manage any offensive production.

What else is there to blame it on but coaching?

Why stop at just this year? How about every year under Miles?

You can play it on player execution and motivation.

Or you can view every flaw of this team as further evidence that Les Miles should be fired (which it sounds like what you are doing).

This past week was on the players. You couldn't ask for more creative play calling in the second half. Two fumbles and drive killing penalties are what cost us. Nothing like we have seen before.

LSU under Miles with a two score lead approaches the 2nd half like we all approach a Friday after lunch.

And everybody wants to know why people leave in the 2nd half? Duh...

Remember when CLM coached teams would wear opponents down and dominate the 4th quarter? seems like a long time ago

The obvious answer is that the opponent adjusts and we don't.

Well this isn't true....

We looked better in the second half against Wisconsin and we looked just fine in the second half against MSU until our second OT injury and 2 fumbles by the best player on our team.

One thing I would like to see is the playclock whenever we snap the ball in each half. We were shown that the playcalling and formations didn't go super conservative the second half, but it still feels like we're slowing down the game with a lead.

I could just not like Miles too much.

On defense, yes. I don't think anyone can honestly say we made adjustments and looked "good" offensively in the second half of that game.

Our adjustment out of halftime was to run it three times and punt, remember?

Ask yourself how many games in the last 4 years we played the complete game, every quarter

Personally I can not think of any, though certainly there must be a few in the last 4 years.

Those were the days. I forgot what it feels like to not have acid reflux heading into the 4th quarter.

I don't think the 2nd half performance can be put on coaches this week. Players made plays and were called back bc of penalties, Miss State did a good job on field position battle, and we turned the ball over a few times.
The O-line has got to get better. The second half is when they're supposed to take the game over. Not happening.

the playclock

I agree. Speaking of playclock, I did notice much more time on the clock with DE taking snaps Saturday. Offense doesn't nearly seem as rushed snapping the ball with .0001 left on play clock every time we make subs.

I'm with several here, we're not that bad in second half.

I do see where that perception comes from, mainly points scored. The one game where we weren't ahead (Whisky) points were scored. Just not enough. It's understandable.

As for history, yep... over and over we try to sit on a lead. Did not do that in MSU game, so there's hope... maybe. MSU "foot on gas" was stunted by fumbles. Maybe CLM sees that as a negative and reverts. We shall see. I suspect we won't see that again.

There's a time and place to just line up and dominate the line of scrimmage and run clock. It is a beautiful thing that kind of domination. Except if it isn't working, stop. And you don't do it in 3rd quarter. Seems in the past LSU (i.e. Miles) assumes the opponent plays same type of offense he does. Most definitely not the case.

Players reflect the attitude of their head coach,i.e.play not to lose rather than play to win

Yep this game was on the players, period!! We threw the ball 30 freaking times, 30!!

One thing I do believe and agree when Miles says it, execution. We saw the lack of it in the Wisconsin game that basically cost us the game. We have seen it in the second half of the last two games. That's on the players! No way in hell am I blaming that on Miles.
