Yes, it's easy to hate on UF for the way that they managed this situation. It would not Surprise me in the least to find out that they slow played this for their own benefit, but they aren't the ones that should shoulder most of the blame. It's not to say that we shouldn't be angry with UF, but if I'm being honest with myself, a part of me understands where they are coming from and I can't say that I wouldn't feel the same way that they are feeling.

What is unacceptable, however, is the fact that the SEC had no contingency plan in place and has essentially allowed UF to hold LSU and the entire conference hostage. There should be clear guidelines for moving back games to Sunday and Monday, multiple neutral sites previously agreed upon, and a clear policy on moving the game to the opponent's stadium if all else fails. This wait and see, dragging your feet approach is bush league bullshite that never should have been allowed by the SEC in the first place.

I would say that I'm hopeful they will address this in the spring, but we all know boy to hold our breath.

Tl;dr. Blame the SEC for this shite show.

I see that. My entire point is why and how could the SEC ever let it come to this? There should be a clearly defined contingency plan that leaves little to doubt in these situations.

You and I both know an acceptable alternative could have been worked out but it didn't happen because the SEC let Florida dick around and waist time

How did they not have a Plan B when it was clearly obvious that UF wanted nothing to do with playing this game? SEC should of laid out a plan B for UF on Wednesday, accept LSU's offer of TS or here's what we are going to do. Instead we allowed a desperate team to filibuster us to get what they wanted.

Either Sankey is on the take or he's too stupid to be commish. LSU screwed either way.

He certainly didn't do himself any favors with the management of this situation

Agreed. UF handled it inappropriately and so did the SEC, but Sankey ultimately made the call. He's new to the office and dealing with an AD who is a 25 year Vet. Foley played his cards right, taking a knee till the end...

Sankey's hand was forced, because he let Foley delay a decision and insist that they wouldn't be changing the venue.

Foley will be out in 3 weeks with a nice retirement package and we'll be "paying" for it

The SEC originally did tell UF to reschedule the game, right? Then the SEC backed down and allowed UF to dictate. I get that.

But they are both to blame: UF for making things difficult for all parties concerned (not the least of which, LSU) and the SEC for letting the tail wag the dog.

It's infinitely clear that UF didn't want to play this game to their benefit. Had they wanted to play, they would have accommodated an alternative.

UF's original press release stating that the game would not be moved and would be played in Gainsville set the tone for this whole fiasco.

There's no doubt what UF pulled was shady, but I get them not wanting to lose a home game, etc. What's incomprehensible is the fact that the SEC let them drag it along when it was almost certain there would be an impact from the storm. It should never have gotten past Wednesday. This whole fiasco points to weak leadership in the SEC IMO.

I'm with you. Every game needs 2-3 alternative sites designated from this point forward
