The SEC is NOT a QB League - Week 1 Avg QBR 47

Watching SEC Network Late, I found it striking that SEC played 20+ QBs in week one (3 freshman). The average QBR was 47. LINK
There is much discussion regarding pocket passers/dual threats on this board. This league IS, and has increasingly become a running league. If you want an advantage, find the BEST runner, WHO CAN THROW. Take a look at Ole Miss in the first half of week 1. Chad Kelley lit it up. BUT, as Ole Miss remained one dimensional through out, failing to establish a consistent run game proved fatal. And oh goodness, the 800 yards of offense Louisville put on Syracuse last night (ACC). QB rushed for 175.
Be afraid of Bama's progression. The once pure ground and pound Bama offense, took its first step toward modernization, when it brought Kiffin in as the OC. Last Saturday was the NEXT big step. A dual threat QB who can toss it a country mile in Jalen Hurt (QBR 64.1). Now Bama is Bama, with mixture of Clemson/Auburn/Louisville. The point is, we too should make sure we have our most talented running QB (WHO CAN ALSO THROW) on the field. With problems that we've had with the OL, we are going to need the "new brand of SEC QB" to some how show up tonight, and for the rest of the season.

This is silly.
The SEC only returned a small handful of starters.. and our team was one of those with returning experience.
Why is it we can't light teams up like a Syracuse??
I believe we do.. and regardless, they are hindered by the coaching from the top.

If we had an "average" QBR of 47 in the Wisconsin game we win going away. Our QBR w/o adjustment for strength of opponent was 6.9 good for dead last in the SEC.
It is both Harris and the scheme. I'm not sure Harris is comfortable with our shitty scheme but that last pass to end the game makes one wonder if he's not more of the equation than just LESS. He is one of the more experienced QB's in the SEC.

When the OL breaks down, he needs to make people pay with his legs. It's the habit of Heisman winning SEC QBs.

I agree! LSU needs to add the element of Harris running though I'm sure if that is "allowed" in the scheme. The read option does not appear to be a "read" and our roll outs appear to be strictly pass. Adding in the threat of Harris running, especially with the poor OL play opens the offense.

Damn it! He doesn't need permission. He's never been pulled from a game. It's his team. No body is going to pull him if he runs and is moving the chains.

I heard a stat last night on SEC Now that Chad Kelly had a QBR of a 6 in the second half against FSU. No that is not a typo... a 6!
