Bama is only 1/2 game back of the Tigers going into the last SEC series. And Bama plays Auburn, the only sec team we swept all year.If the Tigers don't take care of business in Stark Vegas, we could actually lose the #1 seed to the gumps. Hopefully Auburn steps it up for the in-state rivalry !

OMG, then we would have to continue on through the SEC tourney and still try to get to Omaha, OMG

Can't forget about Ole Miss and Florida as they are only 1 game back.

A sweep would be sweet.

I think Auburn will manage 1/3 wins. We need to take 2/3 out of MSU to keep the #1 seed.

True. Going into the Fla series we were tied with Fla and Ole Miss. There wasn't a lot of talk about Bama. That's actually why I started this thread.

That doesn't prevent them from being SEC champs.

LSU could win 2 out of 3 and end up the #3 seed in the SEC Tourney. We'll definitely be scoreboard watching this weekend.

I was making a point of how tight of a race it is, as usual, in the SEC. The current 1st place could take care of business by winning 2 out of 3 and still fall to the #3 seed. Thus my other comment, we will definitley be doing some scoreboard watching this weekend.

Edit: what? do you think I was trying to undermine your comment or something? I wasn't. Chill.

what does it matter if we are 1st or 3rd as long as we win 2 of 3 this weekend?

Ummm, because we would like to win the regular season SEC Championship, maybe?

Alright Josh, let me rephrase this for you.

For those LSU fans that would like to see LSU win the regular season SEC Championship, isn't it a tight race? LSU could win 2 out of 3 this weekend and still end up 2nd in the West and the #3 seed in the SEC Tournament.

I realize that in the big picture this won't effect our postseason goals, seeing how we will have still won 2 out of 3 vs State and could still make a run in the SEC Tournament.

Better?

Ask the players and coaches if it matters.

We've been through this discussion before. It's important to them and most fans. Winning the conference isn't required to win the national title in any sport, but that doesn't diminish the great accomplishment of winning a conference title.
