The problems are still there

"After 3 weeks of rampant speculation and opting to let my coach dangle over the fire. HEY! Les is our guy. He's always been our guy."
What a sight huh? The players carry Coach Miles off the field. The fans chant "We want Les!". You got it!
And when the theatrics are done and tomorrow morning comes, LSU's problems still exist. We still have the coach with a .500 record in November games the last 4 years. Still have the coach who's guided us to 5 straight losses against Alabama. Still have the coach who's gotten blown out twice by an SEC bottom feeder in Arkansas. We've still got the coach who hasn't recruited and developed a high school QB in 11 seasons on the job. We've still got the coach who can't release his death grip on the offense because his preferred offensive style is stuck in 1975. We've still got the coach who routinely has the most penalized team in the SEC, routinely botches simple clock management and routinely has a passing game ranked outside of the top 100 nationally.
Its painfully obvious that the rest of the SEC has closed the gap between themselves and LSU while the game has passed Les Miles by. Any changes to the staff will simply be a lame duck coach's way of saying "hey look how hard I'm trying to fix it." Cosmetic changes that boil down to nothing. Les Miles will NEVER relinquish full control to a competent OC. Joe Alleva settled for mediocrity tonight.

Booger said the same things in his comments and he is right.
Les was almost defiant in his answers to needs for change in the post game Q&A.
Expect the same thing next year.

Booger has been by far the most accurate and eloquent in describing the situation with Miles.

Booger 100% nailed it. His disappointment was evident. But not to worry, ballscaster will be here to tell us LSU is right where it should be and we're bad fans for expecting better.

Hey very coyly suggested there would be some staff changes but got pissy at the suggestion that the offense needed to be overhauled. Because apparently a team can't have a multiple offense without sacrificing the abilities of a player like Leonard Fournette.
That reaction tells you what you need to know about Les. He's stubborn to a fault. He believes 100% that power I, wearing your opponent down and playing great defense is the best formula to win ballgames. Its certainly been more successful than not during his tenure. Its the system Miles knows. It was what Bo ran. He admires Bo and believes in what he learned from Bo. How could it be wrong?
Miles doesn't know or believe in a modern offense. He can't put his finger prints all over it. He doesn't think it lends itself to winning ballgames. That's why we'll never see it.

I really like Les Miles as a man and as a recruiter.
But, I have been extremely frustrated with this:
So I'm not the only one who sees this. We've gone through 4 OC's. I am told that Les lets the OCs manage midfield offense, but he calls all the shots in the red zone. This might be part of the problem.

And I don't want to feel hopeless again like we all did after Alabama & Arkansas games, therefore I'll be just a spectator not a fan of LSU football (at least until Miles retires).

That is frustrating and I felt the same way.
A loss to a key conference component is one thing but the manner in which we have lost is the key. During the Bama game it didn't even look like we were in the same conference.
I was there in the 90's and I can appreciate a 9-10 win season. But if you are not even competitive with major conference opponents then you have no hope of getting a championship.
