The Pareteaux Principle - A Miles Case Study

Basically, it is the 80-20 rule. Otherwise, it essentially says that 80% of the improvement opportunity in a situation comes from 20% or less of the possible factors involved in a complete issue.
In the Case of Coach Miles, his is predominantly based in his personality/philosophy of recruiting the playing the wrong QB, and furthermore not developing them properly.
If Miles did JUST ONE THING, everything else would move to an acceptable place.
Outsource the recruitment of the LSU QB. Hire the best QB coach possible. Hire a reasonable OC, and stay completely out of the offensive game planning, and completely out of the QB's head (I think he scares his QB to "protect the ball" to such an extent they are frozen due to fear of making mistakes, which greatly stunts their development). Select ONE FIRM STYLE OF OFFENSE, AND ONLY RECRUIT PLAYERS FOR QB WHO ARE PERFECT MATCHES FOR THAT ONE STYLE OF OFFENSE.
That is a big thing to ask for from a HC in his 60's.
But it is the thing that would be a GAME Changer.
Most feel this is an impossible adjustment for Miles to agree to and stick to.
Which is why so many of us are through with him.
We also think Alleva and LSU are incapable of holding him to such a thing. So, we want Alleva to be gone if Miles is not.
There you have it.
80% of the improvement needed would come from this one change. The offensive field position and time of possession would trend favorable, allowing the defense to stay off the field, and for LSU to re-stock the depleted DL ranks.
That's it folks. If I were king for a day, I would have a contract written up for Miles to agree to this. If he did, I'd keep him for another shot. If he did not, I would publicly say that he would not agree to it, and that the trust for him to adapt is gone, and to offer that to the world as the basis for making a change.

You are right and it's a matter of les's devotion to a certain view of what produces the desirable outcome. Basicslly he has to be displaced because he is steadfast.

If it was that simple it would have been done years ago. The only way to make progress now is simply to part ways with CLM

But why would any top tier QB choose LSU based on the theology of that promise?

Because of the premise we would have a great QB guru
