Last year was more annoying. We weren't that great this season. We just got hot at the end and then cold. LSU last year should've won it all with that talent. Pitching was ridiculous and had some pretty damn good hitting.

LSU was the best team in college baseball last year.

Yeah, just remember where we were after the Bama series. There were questions if we'd even be hosting a regional. Then we got on a hot streak, won the SEC tournament, and got a national seed. Sure, the streak didn't last, but I'd say we finished about where we expected to for most of the season. Makes missing out on Omaha somewhat less painful.

Losing home regionals is never expected. If Houston was a better team, then Mainieri needs to recruit better.

P.S. I don't believe that Houston was the better team.

It makes me sick to have driven 20 hours to NOT watch LSU. Locals see my LSU stuff and all appreciate it. Most waiters saying they wish we made it.

I got here earlier today. Have seen zero in Orange, but haven't gone to ball park. TCU, Tech, Ole miss seem to have most.

Ole Miss is looking like LSU last year. Swinging for the fences and not working the count.

Ah, two of the most over used phrases on the rant.

I don't use "swing for the fences" but I definitely use the "work the count". We have zero patience at the plate and bail at a struggling pitcher many, many times. We had a .190 hitter (Kramer) hacking away at 2-0 with the bases loaded and two outs in extra innings with a reliever that had already walked a batter. We never gave the pitcher a chance to walk home the winning run.

For those paying attention to this CWS, what do you think the over/under for HR's will be in the entire tournament? Is 5 too high? Does anyone know how many were hit last year?

They're only overused if the team keeps doing it and doesn't learn.

I just get aggravated that some people think working the count is a universal cure all for all our offensive woes.

It really depends on who's pitching, how well he's doing, who's hitting, and more.

That was a dumbass move you posted there.
