You can disect the OC and OL and HC and playcalling all day long, but only one thing adds up to effecient offensive production and victories in the SEC. A QUARTERBACK THAT IS EITHER A JUNIOR OR SENIOR.

Look at the top 3 teams in the country right now. Florida - Senior, Bama - Senior, Texas - Senior. I think its safe to say that 1 of those teams will win the NC. Look back at the past 5 SEC champs and National Champs for that matter.

2008 Florida - Jr. QB, 2 year starter
2007 LSU - 5th yr Sr. QB
2006 Florida - Sr. QB
2005 Texas - Jr. QB
2004 USC - Sr. QB
2003 LSU - Sr. QB (24 years old)

Throw in the past SEC champs for those years and each winner had a Sr. or Jr. QB.

Anyone notice a pattern here? I think we just need to be patient and save our breath. That doesn't excuse the offense from being this bad, but it is part of the problem.

well said, but is it not fair to hold miles accountable for sticking with lee as long as he did when he could have cut his losses earlier last year and startet grooming jj?

i say play shep now about half the snaps

Do you think Shep was sold the idea by Miles that he would be playing a lot more by now?

I would agree. Inexperienced is inexperienced might as well play the most talented in that pool as much as you can.

Inexperience at QB and bad OLINE, both are problems that compound each other.

I am not certain that I can endorse the position that the inexperience of our QB accounts for our poor offfensive performance.

Isn't McElroy rather inexperienced? He is having success.

It seems that inexperienced QB's can have success if they find themselves in the right circumstance.

I am more inclined to blame our horrendous O-line play.

Thats the only thing you can do. There is no miracle for experience. I am sure the Coaches are just as frustrated as anyone here. I am amazed by fans no understanding this concept. To hang high hopes on this team is not very realistic.

Well McElroy is a senior, proves my point. Matt Flynn wasn't a 3 year starter but was a Sr. Makes a big difference.

However, I agree that they could be put in situations that help them overcome that inexperience.

That definitely has to factor in...usually a guy has been groomed for a few years, is mature, steps in, and makes the difference between a Championship, and the Chick-fil-a Bowl. RP would have been that, and there's the hole.

Now GC DOES need to be held accountable if he continually refuses to make changes based on how JJ is progressing. That's on he and Les.

I thought McElroy was a junior.

Agree with this premise.

Had Perriloux not flaked out, 7-5 last season is probably 9-3 or even 10-2. Having a Sr. QB as starter this season would take 10-2 to probably 11-1 or maybe better.

Given that he just turned 19, JJ is about where we should expect him to be, and shows promise into the future.

True (he is a RS junior), but I thought we were discussing game experience, not just chronological age.

I believe McElroy had only played in eight games before this season began. JJ has started that many games at this point.

The point is McElroy has been in the AL system 4 years. You win the SEC Championship and the BCS Championship with JRs and SRs at QB.

Then, please have the ambulance waiting because with his frame and weight, he won't last 3 games playing that many plays at that position.

Randall was actually a better passer.
