Why are some ppl so adamant about hiring O? They come off like relatives of the guy. Look, he's done a fine job as interim coach. All LSU fans should be appreciative. Of course, there's a "but." What was O doing when LSU hired him as d-line coach? What would the reaction have been if O had been hired as d-coordinator? You see what I'm saying? He wasn't deemed qualified to be a coordinator. Now, some want to hire him as the head coach. Does not add up, in my humble opinion. I have nothing against O and I hope LSU can keep him. As a position coach.

Would you have wanted O as D coordinator over Aranda this year? No. So why would you want him as a head coach?

What?

I swear people are going insane here. If he wins out, he's a legit candidate. I've he doesn't win out, cross him off

I have no problem with the line of thinking that he should be a candidate, but I've seen way too many posts advocating him to get the job over more qualified candidates.

And that is just batshit crazy that people are saying just give O the job over a guy who just won a NC 2-3 years ago. There are other guys who are being discounted left and right who have more accomplishments.

I feel like this thread you started could have been a reply in one of the other 100 threads on this subject.

So you have to be a great coordinator to be a great head coach?

There is a hell of a lot more involved in being a head coach than being a good D coordinator. How many great coordinators become great head coaches?

Would he have won without Winston? How many play offs has he been in without Winston? How did he manage Winston's behavior while he was on campus?

They HATE LSU! That's it.

Farmer Fran is making a push tho. I can't understand a word that ignorant backwoods swamp rat says.
