I'm now predicting—partly because I am fed up with the fickle, cry baby, we deserve better moronic fan base and partly because I think he is—that Les Miles will be the next HC at UM.

RichRod is out; he was screwed from the start and UM is just not in the same 'class' as RichRod. (Hint that's not an insult to UM)

Michigan can not afford to hack this again so they are keeping it quiet and in house but Harbaugh and Miles were the only two acceptable options.

If they both turn UM down then Hoke and others will be considered.

Harbaugh will have at least 4 NFL Teams throwing Money at him and one of those could guarantee him a reunion with his LUCKy QB.

Plus, the Blue Blood in Harbaugh's veins has apparently been upgraded at Stanford and he may now think himself a wee bit better than his once beloved Wolverines. (He will be in the NFL next year, book it.)

For Les Miles it is as simple as this; he goes to Michigan, his first love and 'dream job' with an opportunity to restore glory at his alma- matter which frankly should be about as hard as TCU dominating it's new (or old) conference-that is to say, not very.

Miles could walk away from LSU with an extremely credible resume and into a unique position at Michigan where he might become legendary.

The cupboards are not bare and RR has definitely upgraded UMs speed and skill on offense with some pretty decent talent coming in on defense.

Miles knows the recruiting trail up north and will only enhance that part of the equation, plus he brings a national presence that Michigan has lacked recently.

What is more, tOSU, Wisc and the B10(+1+1)in general might be in for a drop-off next year. Newcomers Nebraska and a Mad Hatter led UM could take over rather quickly.

I believe Miles would own the B10+1+1 over the next ten years and could put another ring or two on his finger(s) while cementing his place in CFB lore as one of the best coaches EVER at two different universities in two major conferences.

Too bad LSU fans will be looking back on the Les Miles era as 'the good ole days' and wondering why we went from perennial power to also ran so quickly after the legend left town.

LSU fans who have been (and still are) badgering this man will have to wear that creed like a scarlet letter for years to come as it can ONLY go down hill from here if LSU finds itself looking for a new coach this year.

Pray Mr. Miles looks past the idiocy of our fan base and decides to finish what he started because if he doesn’t I’d be willing to wager UM will be playing for the BCSNC long before we ever climb that hill again.

Heck you never know, we could get it right three times in a row but we might be pushing our luck, especially if 'Lucky' Les is eating grass at the Big House.

Oh well, I guess we are going to find out if Gruden really is available!

You do realize that whoever takes over that job will have to rebuild...

Meaning he will have to find guys that fit "his" style.

That takes awhile - RichRod finally had the guys he wanted on offense and they racked up some points. He just didn't have the guys that he wanted on defense.

If he was able to get a decent D-Coordinator in at Michigan that team would be much better. They just need a defense that could make stops. That D he had couldn't make A STOP.

LSU could be in trouble if Miles leaves...

But I thought that after Saban left too...

How many 'better' coaches are out there?

Name just three that we have a realistic shot at...

I love reading one sentence paragraphs.

It is so easy on the eyes.

I wish that I could get a copy of the Hobbit in this format.

Nothing in your post concisely addresses the "why LSU will never be Elite" in the subject line. Coaching changes, ranters bitch too much, Miles will do good things at Michigan. Fine, I get that. But help me out here: LSU "will never be Elite" because ________________.

So you are saying LSU can't upgrade from Miles?

I like Miles and thinks he recruits well(Except for QB) but I do not think LSU wins because Miles out gameplans other coaches.

PS. UM doesn't want Miles anyway so don't get all upset.

I couldn't answer that, but I bet there's a gazillion 'better' posters than you.

So you think the person that takes the LSU job will have no transition?

Will we keep this recruiting class in tact?

Whole new coaching staff or just the guys that aren't 'rant' approved?

That takes awhile -

Of course it does but with the talent that is currently in Ann Arbor do you think they are more likely to improve (even slightly) or decline in the process?

With LSU, do you think next year's 'super coach' whoever that may be will have to go undefeated to be 'better' than the retard or just 11-1?

Big hill to climb; if you ask me.

No, not saying that.

What I am saying is that it is FAR MORE LIKELY that they WILL NOT upgrade from the Coach with the School's ALL TIME best record than it is that the next coach will have as good or better records than the two previous coaches.

While that may be true we know none of them are from Bastrop.

1. How exactly is this true?

2. Doesn't this "rant" make you just as bad as the ranters you're ranting against?

3. What kind of "fan" are you that you think LSU will "never be Elite"? And why, exactly, do you view the fans as the biggest obstacle to this (which seems to be your implication)? Didn't seem to stand in Bama's way, even if fans are the problem.

I'm lukewarm on Miles staying or going, but all this "we can't do better" from some of you folks in recent days is getting to be just as bad as the "Miles is the source of all evil" BS on here. I find it hard to believe that LSU simply cannot find a good quality HC. Or that whatever HC comes in won't find some measure of success. Hell, I get things could become worse, but at the same time, things could get a hell of a lot better.

While I think you are under estimating UM's chances of landing Harbaugh. I do believe the general ýpremise of your message is correct. ý

Admittedly, I have hoped for some time that Miles would leave for Michigan. However, I also realize ýthat there is no realistic option that ensures us of equalizing the success we currently enjoy. That ýincludes John Gruden.ý

I agree with you man. I dont think we could get a better coach this year. The hires around the ncaa have been shoddy imo.

People dont realize that the next coach will have to go 11-1 and win the west for us to have an upgrade. You can pretty much kiss that goodbye next season, the odd year where the bcs game is played an hour a away. And LSU is likely the only team in the west with a sr qb.

Could we go out there and spend money? Yes, but we wont get a quality coach like Les. Unless we can get patterson.
