Whoever it is, assuming Cam is let go, they need to be involved in the emotion of the game, in the huddle with his offense during timeouts, in the QB's ear, slapping hands and slapping butts.

The next OC needs to be in control of the offense. I don't care if he is on the sidelines, in the booth, or on the freaking moon.

Slapping butts is over rated.

I wouldn't assume that just yet.

Are you kidding me? The OC has been coaching from the sideline for 11 years! Les Miles.

this is correct. Booth or field, it doesn't matter.

There won't be a new OC.

If there is a new one in title then Les should take over officially as HC/OC. Its his offense after all.

Sink or swim.

Les Miles needs to just be in the booth during games.

Watching the team. Observing.

Unlike a lot of you around here, I have never coached a big time college football team, so I don't know where I stand on that issue.
On the one hand, being upstairs gives you a better view of the entire field and what defensive adjustments are being made to your offense.
Then there is the on the field advantage by being able to talk directly to your offensive personnel and get their feelings as to what is happening.

If there are any people out there that have actually served as a coordinator either offense or defense out there, I'd like to hear your experience and recommendations.

THIS
More than once this season, I've seen Saban get over ruled by Kiffen on the sideline and the play worked. Saban wanted a different play, Kiffen got in his face, and then on the head set to the QB saying run the play.

It's easier for Miles to overrule someone on the head set. It's different when they can get in each other's faces down on the side line. I think it will get rid of some of the over ruling crap.

I don't care if our 'new' OC (meaning Cam cuz he apparently is staying) is sitting at home in his Evil Lair calling plays like this as long as it's not Les:

Because he visited Franks? Maybe he told him he won't be the offensive coordinator next year to see if it could change is mind. Who knows anything? I believe he's gone.

My only requirement for OC is for it to not be Les Miles.

Wow. If you think this is a possibility...just...wow.

Les: Hey, Cam, let's go see FF so you can tell him you are leaving. That surely will sway him to LSU. What's that? Your successor? Nah, I have no clue yet. But, let's see if we can sway FF. Cool? Dab!

It was a joke, dummy-hence the "who knows anything" right after it. Point is no one knows what they talked about. Wow...just...wow.
