When something like this past weekend happens, you don't sit back and just draw a line in the sand without providing context and hope everyone figures it out.

You use every available platform, including social media, radio, print, TV, department websites, and more to present your clear, concise, and consistent message to the public.

You do it early and often.

If you don't, others will set the narrative in their best interest and not yours.

There is no narrative, you have talking heads.

Foley screwed the bunch, but not necessarily LSU. You do understand why Foley is being very quiet... he has probably been telling Joe all weekend... shut the hell up.

You don't get it yet do ya? Its a master plan, rotten to the core, but I think Foley pulled it off.

That's the problem. The longer there is no narrative, the more likely someone else will create one.

It is a constant issue with our Athletic Department. Whoever is in charge of PR should be fired. It is 2016 and you need to be all over this, not just for this one incident but to get a competent brand out to the public.

Maybe if LSU had a public relations department...

If they don't have at least a Public Affairs Official, that is even worse. I am one, for a very small department who realized the increasing importance of being proactive with the media, enough to create the position.

You are so dammed correct. That prick has been I FL showing his arse for 25 yrs and no one has called him to task. I'd liked to have seen him try to pull this shite on AL, e.g., LilNicky.

Unfortunately, the true PR position was held by Herb Vincent who is now over in the SEC office and according to Hannigriff that position has yet to be refilled although as he says with all the crap from the endof football season last year till this new fiasco, the position will evidently be filled very shortly. In sum, there is no PR position at LSU at this time.

I heard him say that too. I was really surprised. It is PAST TIME that they fill that job. I hope it happens soon!

Dude, 36 Americans died as a result of Hurricane Matthew. Nobody cares that LSU didn't get to play, except for juvenile LSU fans

Florida had the better hand, and played it. LSU just has to wait for the next round of cards to be dealt

Just keep spreading this. Get it on ESPN. Get it on gameday. Shame them. Troll them.

Florida didn't have the better hand. They manipulated the situation to their advantage, going so far as to lie so that the media would paint LSU in a negative light when they actually did everything in their power, short of conceding a home game and millions of dollars in revenue. Foley flat out lied when he said that UF offered 11/19 as a make up date. That came out later when it became clear that UF refuted every good faith attempt by LSU to have the game played.

All of the bleeding hearts out there who say we should feel sorry for UF need to remember that the BR area is still reeling from the effects of its own natural disaster, and can't afford to lose the money that a LSU home game would bring in.

After the election, LSU needs to hire KellyAnne Conway. She could talk the legs off a chair.
