re: The lack of offense last night is almost entirely on the OL.

Thank you so much Bob. I was thinking of that same thing of C. Black. The guy is horrible, I noticed that in Washington game. Always jumping offside, can't block worth a d*mn.
Have you noticed another thing he does when he screws up, is to scream at JJ. I wonder if the coaches has ever said anything to him. I can understand if others are screwing up and he screams, but is always him screwing, then scream at the qb. JJ needs to put him in his place.

He doesn't not have big #a, but shite his INTs are low, at least he is not stupid and can protect the ball.

if that was Russell or Flynn LSU gets sacked once last night

And LSU still loses b/c they wouldve had to throw the ball away in a hurry. Theres no apologizing for the OL play. Thats a more experienced unit than the QB.

biglego, that is my point. JJ is young and inexperienced. Our OL players that are playing pitifully are multi-year starters that are playing like they don't want to be out there and could give a rats arse about the team.

That is what is disappointing. This OL has to improve, and knowing JJ is struggling, Miles or Crowton should have either given Lee a shot or gone to a more run oriented offense, maybe a wildcat type thing. Plain and simple, the OL is horrible and regressing outside of the UGA game, where they only sucked for 1.75 quarters (from the third quarter until the 86 yard drive).

He's as bad at holding on to the ball as Lee was giving it away. Lee's #'s far superior.

I'd rather the sacks than the INTs. But without a running game I doubt either QB will be able to win many more games this year.

Lee also had some semblance of an OL last year. He had plenty of time much of the game. At this point, I am not at all against giving Lee a start and sitting Jefferson. His play, although steady, hasn't produced results.

Something has to change, and that may be the only thing aside from benching almost the entire starting OL. Apparently when they have food poisoning they block better.

bob i agree this season has been difficult but believe it or not some of the players read this stuff, or some of their friends read this and it gets back to them, these are 20 year old men 19 in jefferson's case... critcizing them isnt going to make them play better, critcize the coaches all you want they get paid and once the players go to the next level then critcize their play but not while they are in college

yeah Stevo I agree, I'd rather take sacks than throw INTs. I don't want a Jarrett Lee for the 2nd year in a row.

If JJ doesn't start throwing the ball, let alone throwing it on time, we will have someone else. Don't know who it will be, but JJ has been coddled to this point, and he's got to take some major steps forward.

JLedet, give me a break. Ciron is 22 years old and is the one screaming and yelling at the 19 year old QB when the kid is struggling following Ciron screwing up.

They deserve to be criticized. If they don't want to be, then don't play fricking college football. Your performance on the field is what gets these "Kids" their scholarship. When I was in school, I was on Academic scholarship. If I didn't perform to a certain level academically, I lost my scholarship. I am not even talking about taking away their scholarship, but their performance is what should determine if they are on the field.

They are paid to play football, are afforded numerous benefits and amenities, so I have little sympathy for the ones in their 3rd,4th, 5th, or 6th years. JJ is another story. I feel for the kid, he's struggling as a result of a horrid OL, horrid playcalling, and horrid coaching of the QBs.

Jefferson's long strided drop puts him right in a rush lane for the DE. Coaches need to correct that issue.
The same thing happened in the Georgia game...it wasn't just last night; that is why I am starting to get concerned that JJ is not the long term answer- his progress as a QB seems to have leveled off...

bob i concur with how you feel about cirons performance. the mental breakdowns are very frustrating and you would think a 300 lb all american wouldnt be thrown into the qbs lap 2 or 3 times a game (even ul laffy did this to him). the only time i can see criticizing is on an effort related issue which the false starts are definitly effort issues, when you keep getting dominated i hold the coaches for that, what is our strength program like??? i remember seeing the damn 150 lb rbs falling forward all night, and the 240 pound tight end drag 2 defensive lineman for an extra 3 yards to get a first down

nope

ask any person that follows football, and they will tell you 3 seconds is plenty enough time to throw

even then, you step up in the pocket, and you buy yourself another second or 2

Russell was awesome at it. Flynn was pretty good at it.

The OL isnt at fault here. You're clueless.

This is the one few legitimate threads since the game's conclusion.

However, the O-line is terrible. The worst I've seen in maybe 20 years. But, the option....is not an option. It is a loss of 3. Maybe some designed runs for J.J. would work better. This is not on him. He is 19 and only had a half a dozen starts. The hey everyone look to the sidelines for the playcall....WTF. NO ONE knows what is going on. This season is on the OLINE and the OC and HC.

That being said. Everyone would have been happy with 5-1 months ago. Give them an opp to correct things and then only set your hair on fire if they dont.

Amen
