people, if you haven't sold you tix for face value by christmas day .. start giving them away ... holy shite .. was looking at ebay, stubhub, and the ticket exchange last night .. i don't think there would be more tickets avaiable if LSU was playing in the humanitarian bowl ..

Outside of the sugar bowl/bcs championship, has LSU ever played in a bowl game that sold out? Gator bowl and independence bowl come to mind.

We have something like 24 tickets and we'll probably use 8 of them.

I still have at least ten unused tickets from the last Cap One bowl.

my dad and i went to that gator bowl in 1987 and it was packed ... the 1995 indy bowl was packed too .. but that is like a 42,000 seat stadium ... i just don't get these people buying tickets to four different bowl games in anticipation of LSU going to one of them and then having to spend the holidays online selling the other three ... it is always going to be a losing propostion .. and then they bought the LSU tix at face value ... i have NEVER been to an LSU bowl game (outside of the two title games) where there weren't an ASSLOAD of tickets available on gameday ...

i feel for you, stro .. that is a lot of money there ... i think a lot of people just blew their wads on the seattle trip .. i had said it in a thread on here in august ... i had a feeling that, outside of playing for the championship, whatever bowl LSU goes to wasn't going to be attended well ..

How many LSU fans do you expect in the actual stadium?

The Sugar Bowl looks even worse. Craigslist and Ebay are flooded with tickets. People are begging for face value and people are laughing at them. This will be a freebie by the day of the game.

i don't think 10,000 are going to be there ... of course, with the economy, i think all of these bowls are going to give all schools a hall pass this year ... no way you can really judge a school's bowl attractiveness by how well they traveled in 2008 and 2009, imo ..

and of all the crappy sugar bowl matchups that NOLA has been stuck with since the BCS went to the plus one system .. this is CLEARLY the best one of them ... yes, tiger fans, LSU-Notre Dame was a crappy match up in the grand scheme of things ..

Oh well, I'm going to have a good time regardless. At least LSU sold tickets as that's the most important factor.

I think I figured a way to determine whether you really want the tickets or not... I had an old CC on file with my account... I ordered 2 from my account, my dad ordered 4 from our joint account.

They tried to charge my CC, got the email that it wasn't working, I forgot about it...so, they never shipped the tickets because they didn't have a way to charge me. Therefore I saved myself from eating 2 extra tickets.

Haven't missed an away game since 05 and bowl game since 01 so might as well go and see the "new offense" and get some mickey time.

For Florida fans, this might as well be the Independence Bowl. I've read that they didn't even come close to selling out their allotment.

I got a call yesterday from a friend offering tickets. He had a friend who was "just looking for $50 [each]" for terrace level endzone seats claiming that he paid "over $100" for them. I told him, "No thanks. I'll just go the day of the game and get lower level sideline for about $25."

But, these Sugar Bowl "season ticket" holders make a killing when the National Championship game is in N.O. (or they don't have to pay through the arse if LSU is in it). So, this is just payback for being a SB season ticket holder. I wonder how many will stop being season ticket holders after this season.

I have a friend who had been a SB season ticket holder for years until they screwed him in 2007 by not letting him buy his seat for the BCSNC game. They wouldn't explain their refusal, they just told him that he had to purchase the "regular" Sugar Bowl ticket and wouldn't be allowed to purchase the NC game, after he had been a season ticket holder for about 7 years. He dropped it that year. And, he's glad he did.

Now, many of these season ticket holders are seeing that they will have to take big losses every three years (not including the regular Sugar Bowl ticket they must purchase when N.O. has the BCSNC game) in order to get that BCSNC game ticket every fourth year. It's just not worth it any longer.

Further, I think you'll see people shying away from purchasing their tickets through LSU in the future. LSU is all about taking care of the fat cats with respect to both allocation and seating assignments. So, most people will just forego that crap (and their yearly donations) when they can come out MUCH better financially by just buying their tickets after the bowl games are announced. i think you'll see people just checking the BCS NC game box and nothing else. I believe all those years of catering to fat cats will and reducing the lottery for away and bowl games is going to come back to haunt LSU in the future.
