The good news is Mainieri and Jones will have better days

Not going to sugar coat this, just being realistic. Yes, Thursday was about as painful as it can get if you bleed Purple and Gold. In baseball, Mainieri learned the hard way that Poche is not LSU's Friday night starter, maybe he'll earn it on Sundays. Coach Mainieri's really good, he'll figure his starters out soon enough, but his one weakness continues to be leaving his pitcher in too long when they are struggling. The good news is Mainieri and LSU baseball will have much better days than this.
I thought Coach Johnny Jones had his basketball team playing lights out for most of this game, for a moment LSU looked unbeatable. But coach Jones seemed to get too caught up in all the excitement of his players, and that part he'll learn. This LSU staff has really coached up the team well, except for the one thing, free throws, and it turned into a very painful thing. What this tells me is that Jones and his staff has LSU basketball soaring upward really fast, just learn how to coach making d#mn free throws, and we cool.

Even comparing the two is an insult to PM.
Poché was very good until last night. He was off. It happens. LSU will lose a game or two.
What happened in the final 3 minutes of the BB game was a fn embarrassing performance. One single free throw. One single bucket.
That BB team lost it between the ears. That mental toughness wasn't taught all year.
So in short, JJ is steps below PM on the Coaching scale here bud.

Uh, it's baseball.
He found out no such thing. Even Friday night starters lose from time to time.

Love idiots...comparing PM and Jones is laughable, much less bashing Poche when he had a bad start, but has been lights out this whole season.

When? He's been a head coach for like 15 years.

Congrats on watching your first LSU basketball game last night.
