On “Off the Bench” this morning T-Bob and Hester posed this question “What was the exact moment in 2019 you realized that team was special and could/would win it all?” For me it was after 3 and 17.

Could: When we beat Bama.

Though I remember thinking several times after that game that our defense was eventually going to cost us. Thank goodness they tightened up for the NC run.

Would: Burrow to Marshall TD 4th qtr of NC game.

Walking out of the stadium after the first game. Something just felt different about that team

I believe this was the exact moment. This put them ahead 33-13 at halftime.

I was pretty sure we COULD win it all after we beat Florida.

I was 100% sure we WOULD win it all after we beat Bama.

Burrow gets a ton of credit for the Bama win, and deservedly so, but Clyde drug his nuts all over that Alabama defense that day. LSU doesn't win the ball game without Clyde. The emotion he had in that final run to get the first down that would ice it will always be legendary to me. Straight up dragged half the defense with him, just refused to be denied.

When Joe Burrow told us all they were gonna score 40 50 60 points a game at manning academy...I believed him.

I was at the UT game. That game, that crowd, that heat. The Jefferson touchdown to seal it. I knew then, if they could beat Bama, they would win it all.

Joe was +500 to win the Heisman at that point. I knew he was going to win it. I should’ve put $100 down on him.

Could, really all along in the preseason I thought we’d go 11-1 and be either the 4 seed or in the Sugar Bowl but after the Texas game I liked our chances a lot

When we picked off Tua and then scored before the half at Bama. It was a beautiful thing to watch!

Probably after the Florida comeback. The Stingley pick and then the bomb to Ja'Marr. Just felt different.

It was more about the play calling though. It was a gigantic frick you that we went down an took more points. In every other season in recent memory (going back probably a couple decades), we would have sat on the ball and gone to half.
