I do think Harris will start, but not because BR said it.

fwiw, the Guilbeau article is actually pretty good (note that I'm not a hater of all things Glenn, though).

LINK

couple highlights, cuz I can't have y'all giving Glenn clicks.

quote:

“When we recruited him, we looked at his mom and dad and aunts and uncles and asked, ‘What’s his growth potential?’ And he has big boned, big people in his family,” Cameron said. “He just needed to put in the work. And he’s gotten faster, and he’s gotten stronger. Now he looks like an SEC football player, not just some young, skinny, talented kid. That’s important.”

quote:

He has interacted more with his teammates on and off the field.

“I wasn’t spending enough time with my teammates last year,” he said. “The receivers fought hard this summer, and I was tough on them by asking a lot of things, getting them up. I tried to get them to catch passes with me every chance I could, and they responded well.

quote:

Sophomore wide receiver John Diarse of Monroe noticed the new Harris.

“I think Brandon hit a mature button that was like a 180 degree turn for him,” Diarse said.

I have no doubt that Harris will start. My concern is how much will Leslie tie his hands.

Harris could be the QB that Miles has always wanted. He might let him loose with the running game setting up a downfield passing game and Harris' ability to run/throw with those WRs and OLine? Wow. Could be all if the pieces at once.

Defense will feed off of this and become more aggressive because the offense can actually move the ball and score. They will give up some big plays, but will make more plays and this will be a fun year. The Mad Hatter reemerges and LSU goes 10-2 at least.

A lot if he's playing well of course. Why work your arse off all off season just to have a QB playing well and screw it all up

Silly me, here I was thinking the guy we pay 1.5 mil a yr. to and the guy who coaches the QBs and runs the offense will have a lot more to do with what Harris does with his hands.

I hope they roll with the 2013 offense. Of course I'm sure they had more trust in Met than they do with Harris at this point but IMO they should try to emulate that offensive identity.

Last year it seemed they could settle on what kind of offense they wanted to be (largely because of QB struggles). They tried several different schemes just to find something that Jennings could manage and give the team some ability to throw the ball.

2013 should be what Miles and Cameron aspire to be. I don't think they need to handcuff Harris into simply being a game manager. I'm afraid they will though.
