LSU baseball has more attendance than most school's basketball teams, not just LSU's.

In 2009, LSU baseball was second only to UK basketball . The Baseball Tigers out-drew every other college basketball team in the country that year. In 2010 we would have been fourth.

LSU baseball is in a unique position.

I am talking baseball as a whole, Pro baseball is second only to Pro Football in terms of revenue.

If you're speaking strictly of LSU and in terms of attendance garnered from actual attendance, then yes it does.

But due to revenue generated from television contracts, I think basketball still makes more.

And a more lucrative contract exists because even in the SEC where baseball is more popular by far than any other conference and basketball in the SEC is relatively second tier in that regard to most BCS conferences, baskeball can still make more money in televison ad revenue than baseball.

College baseball was really aided by the MLB strike in the mid-90's as well. Baseball has always been demeed America's pasttime and strikes and steroids only help to increase the popularity of college baseball. I have friends that watch college baseball because of the "purity of the game." Aluminum bats excluded. But make no mistake about it, it is very regional, and will never have huge ratings in the tv markets that count, i.e. Boston, NY, Philly, and LA.
