The Ar-Kansas experience

Just getting back in from Little Rock. This was my first ever LSU away game, so I don't have much to compare it to.
Overall, the experience wasn't all that great. It's to be expected that every fan base will have its share of idiotic fans, but Arkansas had a TON!!
The Bad: The stadium is HORRIBLE!!! There are high school stadiums in Louisiana that are nicer. If ULL and McNeese closed in its endzone with bleachers they would have much better stadiums. The tailgaiting was nothing special. We walked to go to the bathroom we turned around and there were two Arkansas fans approaching us looking like they wanted to fight. The guy proceeded to talk to shite about everything under the sun, including the beer we were drinking. As he ran his mouth a few more of his buddies approached looking for nothing more than a fight. It had nothing to do with football, just talking shite. After going to the bathroom, we walked back down the little kart path/road and there were hundreds of Arkansas fans lined up. Those fans were pretty much ruthless. The stuff most of them were talking about had zero to do with football. It was more talking shite about the state and other stupid crap. He just laughed and kept walking. We stopped a ways down and were talking with an Arkansas fan. We asked what all those people were doing, because I thought maybe the band, football team, or something passed there because their fans were lined up like it was a parade. The guy just laughed and said, "No, nothing passes. They are just waiting for LSU fans." I have no problem with this and was well prepared to take some good natured shite talking from Arkansas fans. These people were pretty classless about it. We do it in Baton Rouge every single week, but it's more good-natured. We tigerbait people..if they smile and laugh we high-five and tell them good luck. The ones that get all pissed about it, we have a little more fun. But everything is in good fun. We had a blast with some Alabama people, and a few other opposing fans in Baton Rouge.
In the game there were plenty more shitty fans. We sat a section away from the Arkansas band so we were not around any other LSU people. Their fans cheered when Arkansas did good and we sat, mostly hanging out head at the idiotic plays we were making. Whenever we stood up and cheered there were a few of their fans acting like we were committing murder. I went all the way to Little Rock..I was not going to sit on my hands and not cheer for LSU just because they didn't like it. They had plenty of remarks every time we opened our mouth the cheer, even though those opportunities did not come often.
The Good: We did meet some decent Arkansas fans. We tailgated with some. They cooked a gumbo and gave us some. Played washer boards and drank with them most of the afternoon. They were really down to earth. There were some nice Arkansas fans, but they seemed to be in the minority. There was a group of 4 or 5 sitting behind us in the game that talked a lot about the SEC and BCS bowls, etc. They were nice to be around the whole game. They cheered on Arkansas and we cheered on LSU and that was that.
I was also very impressed with the way their entire fan base got into the game. For a smaller stadium that place got LOUD at every key point in the game. As annoying as the "pig sooie" crap is..they had nearly 100% participation everytime they did it..and it was pretty cool to see that.
All that being said...I don't think I'll ever make that trip again. Overall it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. And we lost, so that didn't make anything any better. Even with a win, I would be saying I'd rather go to other places before I go back there.

Arkansas has two stadiums. It's unfortunate that a team of LSU's caliber has to play in Little Rock, since the Fayetteville stadium is nicer. But don't think for a second that Arky has the worst fan base. LSU has its fair share of turds for fans.

I've always heard the fans in Little Rock are terrible.

I know...I wish they game would be in Fayetteville. I'd like to see the campus...and the baseball stadium.

I know LSU has its fair share...shite opposing teams may leave and think I'm one of the "turds," but the stuff that I say and do isn't close to how they acted. I don't walk around acting like a badass looking for a fight as the other teams fan walk by our tailgate.

Getting back from LR too..
Yes the stadium is horrible.. 55k capacity for a top notch SEC game is ridiculous..
The clocks were completely f'd..
You couldn't hear the refs (but could hear Eminem blaring)
My experience with the fans was not horrible.. There were some drunk douches above us (the only 2 lsu fans in the section) screaming retarded things and throwing popcorn at us.. but the woman on my right patted me on the back and said "we're not all bufoons" and I said "ahh no worries, we do the same thing.." Which we do.. but for the most part.. they were very accomadating and extremely happy to go to their first BCS bowl - can't knock them for that...
But yeah.. the stadium did blow...

Arkansas sky rocketed up on my list of hated teams in the SEC after going to a game there. As much as I hate Alabama, their fan base seemed to be the best this season. They took the crap we gave them with a smile and most ended up having conversations with us that ended in a hand shake.

if i was basing it 100% from this board then Arky has the worst fans. easily.
taking everything in consideration i'd go with florida. i mean who the hell wears jorts?

Yep..and don't blame them for that one bit. They were really loud for having such a small stadium and they were very into every play. We actually had zero problems after the game. They were too busy cheering and celebrating the win to worry about us. I was expecting a much much worse exit.

ive been to little rock for the game 3 times and, win or lose, it was a horrible experience. i know we have some bad fans who give opponents some bad experiences but ALL 3 TIMES the experience sucked. i'm just a glutton for punishment i just kept going back. their fans are mostly assholes...mostly, not all. 2 out of the 3 times i said to someone AFTER the game "you just won. what are you so fricking angry about?"
with that said, i hope they win the sugar bowl but their fans can get assraped for all i care.
let me add this; i've been to every sec road game except msu and s carolina. arkansas' fans are the worst. tennessee and uga fans were great. vandy fans were quiet.

No...it was actually decent (of course I had been drinking). They were from north Louisiana, so they knew a little bit about it. Wasn't nearly seasoned enough...and no salt in the rice. But it was pretty and they were good people, so it made it a little better.

there are jorts in and around tiger stadium.
we have our fair share of redneck and coonass cheese running around campus on game days.

I'm guessing that this time was the one time you didn't say that. They were pretty damn excited where I was. A lot of opposing fans could have asked that question to us after our first seven games of the season too.

I'll take 5,000 fans wearing jorts over 500 idiot arse Arkansas fans.

I think Little Rock is a rowdier crowd than Fayetteville. They have got to get rid of that stadium

i didn't go this year. the 2002 game where they hit two long passes with seconds left was the worst. they were all over me and my buddy as we left the stadium acting like an angry mob on a witch hunt. one dude threw a bottle at us. fricking crazy.
