I use an HDMI cable to hook up my iPad to the tv. I too had been having trouble with blurry video, audio cutting out, and the stream freezing up requiring a reboot. (There is a joke somewhere in there. )
I have ATT Uverse and I upgraded my internet speed to 100Mbs and ita works great now. $25 extra a month.

I had lagging issues last year and thought it was my internet but it was definitely the app. I upgraded my internet last year and nothing changed. This year has been much better for me. I have COX internet btw.

Last night it was the first time I had issues with it. I lost it in the 3rd and said forget it.

It was fine on my phone, terrible on my laptop.
Watch ESPN needs to get their shite together.
The Watch ESPN app for Windows 10 DOES tend to skip/freeze a whole lot while other platforms seem fine. Using Chrome with www.watchespn.com (www.espn.com/watchespn/index) alleviates those issues. It's a little less convenient than the app but a lot more stable.
