That LSU Underdog Energy is in the air, boys. Can you feel it too?

Baton Rouge has a weird kind of energy right now. It's been a while, but I remember this feeling. A mixture of excitement, competitive and cultural pride, the vague feeling of violence and mayhem in the air, the feeling of being repeatedly poked in the chest by some loudmouth bully and his even more obnoxious sycophants. That feeling of it building to crescendo, of something being larger than ourselves, of that one critical moment to make a stand and knock the bully on his arse, leaving him bewildered and full of excuses and sending him home to his God-forsaken shite hole of a home holding his nuts muttering about how he never saw the uppercut coming and how "he beat himself".
Floods, economic reversals, general anxiety about our culture and politics, violence on our streets, the murders of our law enforcement on a quiet Sunday morning, the drawn-out fall of our long-time coach, our program being disrespected and buried by the talking heads, the injury of our generational football star...Just one moment of stress and anxiety after another, seemingly unending.
This is where it ends. LSU football. The 800 lb gorilla with a chainsaw for a penis. Leonard Fournette. Jamal Adams. Beer. Whiskey. Gumbo.Beautiful Louisiana women. Family. Friends. All freaking day long. The golden band from Tiger Land. Saturday night, Tiger Stadium, 7:00 pm.
Do you feel it? This feeling of being disrespected, of being underdogs, of playing for state pride, that energy slowly building, the smell of whisky in the air, the 7pm kick off, student section on fire, the pretty-boy Goliath across the field, basking in self-congratulation, surrounded by the near-impossible hubris of their fans strolling into town thinking LSU is Aggie or Volunteer. Thinking they are rolling into College fricking Station or Starkville for a quick methodical win, like they are entitled to it.
It's going to be a game for the ages. Pure, unrelenting adrenaline-fueled energy that makes you feel like your heart might explode matched by on-the-field violence channeled towards the most arrogant, dismissive and condescending group of rednecks we have ever known.
Bring it the frick on.

We are definitely the type of team that gives Alabama the one loss they shouldn't have.

This is how you hype up a board. Great writing, my friend. Consider doing it more often.

lots of people still had 1-9 hangover for this game in 2012 but everybody brought it in 2014 and we still fell short. You can see and feel the new energy this go around. This game is feeling like UT 2000, UGA 2003. semi-Nervous but confident energy leading up to the game. Both those games we had something to prove and the fans brought it all game.
