Watchin all these bowl highlight on ESPN has me thouroughly pissed off that all the rest of the games had perfect, immaculate fields and LSU/Penn State had to play in a piece of crap mud/mosh pit field.

BTW- I'm sure this is Germans.

We were discussing that same thing throughout the game.

With a decent field and a dry ball, LSU probably wins in a close ugly game. But both teams played in it and thats the way it goes.

I think the field for the Cap One Bowl was a pretty good representation of the entire season for LSU. Just nasty and crappy.

I admire your denial.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but why can't they roll tarps over the field?

I agree, let's let it go. I do want to know why we cover baseball fields with tarps and not football fields.

They cover the infield, not the whole baseball field. You do realize that right?

Yes, I do realize that. Even if they covered the sidelines at least it would've shown effort. Do you disagree that the turf manager should've thought to cover the field in an attempt to do something?

It wasnt a tarp. Was at the game and they said the field was resodded about 3 weeks ago. Problem was they played hs playoff games a week after and the sod didn't take. It was worse in person than on tv. Never seen anything like it and clearly played into psu's favor

I heard about the games on the broadcast. It may not have helped to put a tarp down, but I'd do whatever was in my power to protect it.

I agree with CLM's comments that it was the same challenge for both teams. What gets me is that I have been watching football for a long time and it seems no matter what level i.e. biddy, high school, college or Pro, my teams always seem to lose in bad weather games and I always wonder if it would have been different in better conditions. Then my wife smacks me in the back of the head and tells me to get over it.
