When it's one person's word against an officers with no video of the incident how would that play out in court when the alleged "criminal" disputes all charges???

Not really hard to believe that a Eunice detective was acting like an a-hole. And a fricking detective to move a car from the wrong side if the street?
I moved back down to NOLA last year and a few weeks after, my wife and I were coming home around midnight from a wedding. There's an intersection in the Bywater that all my life was a "no left turn except buses". Well, I get to the red light and see that the sign no longer exists so I think it's ok to turn left. Not even 3 seconds later I have an unmarked car behind me with his lights on. I pull over and this douche bag comes walking up to the car with his hand on his holster. We have no tint on the windows so he could see 2 dressed up people in the car. Anyway, this a-hole goes on a 15 minute rant about how much of a danger to the roadway I was and how they should just take my license away. I tell him I didn't see a no left turn sign and he turn and points to it. The sign was bent and facing the wrong direction. I point that out to him and he then asks if I work for DOTD. I tell him no and he snips back, what did you just say? I tell him again that I do not work for DOTD and that maybe that sign needs to be fixed because its not very clear. It wasn't until then that he asked me for my license. He took his time running it and when he gets back to the car he tells me that I need pay better attention to the street signs and I told him I always do and asked him if he agreed the sign was turned in the wrong direction. He then goes on about how that sign has been there for over 50 years blah, blah, blah. So about 45 minutes spent from an unmarked officer in NOLA @ midnight on a Saturday night over a bent street sign. I'm sure the streets were safer that night due to officer friendly's due diligence.

How u ask someone 2 move there car from onside the road in the country. 
cop was a diick and what Simon said sounds about right. I also think it cost him 2 drop 2 the 5th round and he should sue.

I thought this was a Barney Fife deal from the beginning. Now Im convinced. Its freakin draft day for this young man and this cop has to arrest him for these silly allegations at his gma's house? Nice job cop.

lol some of you folk are hilarious , with yalls cop hate. Some of y'all ain't even bothered to read the whole story and bring up that the detective didn't even have a ticket book. Well no shite, he's a detective, which is why he called a deputy to write the summons. Then y'all say after he moved the car the detective should have walked away and that ain't true. In the report it clearly states TS peeled out, drove erratic and then opened his car door to blast his music and was Disturbing the peace. Now that being said I'm sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle and this was the second night in a row the detective asked him to move his car. That tells me either the detective lives around there or someone called him. Did it happen the way either side said it? Probably not. I know how very very easy it is to catch a resisting charge also and I think most officers abuse that shite often.

I have seen police countless time harass people for no reason. Music going and people hanging around and the police show up to start some shite. You can continue to believe cops are these good willed people, but most of them use their authority to start shite.

You'd believe Tharold saying "I own Eunice, I know the mayor and I could have you fired"!! Seriously you believe that over what Tharold said? Sounds like something out of a movie.
What Simon said happens all the time in black neighborhoods. I can understand why some of you guys don't believe it because cops aren't constantly patroling the suburbs or mixed areas, but they are prevalent in the ghetto and what Simon said constantly happens. Of course you don't believe it because you never see it. We (black people) witness it all the time. It's actually typical and when reading it sounds like the kinda thing that is NEVER brought up in news.

The big deal is that we should expect a lot more from cops than we should from people with very little real-life experience. Cop should have been the cooler head, realized what was potentially at stake, and either just spoke to Simon about his behavior or left. Arresting him was childish.
